No flap helmets
-
I am seeing no flap helmets players in player vault for 25. Can anyone tell me how to do that? I'm not seeing that as an option in create player.

@ralph13m_PSN
I'd like to know, also, given how long I've been creating players! I have not been able to figure it out. I've seen you've been busy making a lot of players; just be careful to not copy others' work and reupload it.I'm not sure how long you've been at this, but we have to recreate them over again, year-to-year, which was not the case before the game was ported to other systems.
Join my cause in getting SDS to allow players from the Vault to carry over, as logos do!

When I do I try to give attribution to the user I downloaded it from.
-
@ralph13m_PSN That's good, just give credit to the original designer in your description.
Any idea on the flap thing? I've been making these players since we had the option to use no flaps, and I don't know how they're doing it now.
Ideally, we'd be able to deck out the older generations of players the same as how the NGL players look, with the old-school unis, too.
-
@Zachtronics_XBL In the player vault, and I don't remember the user's name right now, there is a generic no flap player for position and pitcher. I downloaded that and use that as a base to create legendary players. However, I would also like the option to have a player be able to step up to the plate without a helmet. Those weren't made mandatory until the '60s.
-
@ralph13m_PSN I've done the same, and I've tried messaging those folks, but often times, the accounts are private. I'll see them upload a flapless helmet, but little else. Weird, no?
I think Brooks Robinson was one of the first to wear a helmet with an ear flap, too.
I know the history well, like you seem to also.
Keep asking! They do listen, believe it or not.
-
@Zachtronics_XBL I want the model for Brooks Robinson to have the shaved off visor on his helmet.
-
@Zachtronics_XBL I've also tried. I wonder if it's one of the developers.
-
@Zachtronics_XBL I'm kind of an amateur baseball historian. Baseball has been my passion since the 1986 Mets.
-
@Zachtronics_XBL if you are into podcasts there is a really cool podcast called the midnight library of baseball. I highly recommend it.
-
@ralph13m_PSN Have you ever used Out of the Park Baseball? With that software, you'll never need to look up another statistic anywhere else. You find guys like Tony Mullane, who was one of the Reds' franchises' best pitchers, who could throw left or right.
-
@Zachtronics_XBL I usually just use baseball reference for stats and then sim try to get stats fairly accurate. However, that works better for pitchers than it does for hitters.
-
@ralph13m_PSN And there's another funny thing. Brooks looks NOTHING like him, and they've been using that model since at least 2016/2017. I'd have to pop in those versions to my PS5 to remember exactly.
-
@Zachtronics_XBL Tom Seaver doesn't really resemble Tom Seaver, either. And, they don't have his wind up quite right. And, John Franco looks kind of like just a generic player that is in the stock editable players.
-
@Zachtronics_XBL where do I find that software?
-
@ralph13m_PSN After they "upgraded" the textures, making players look as accurate to their real life counterparts has been more difficult. Everything is too soft and matted down.
Seaver was actually "upgraded", but I'm not sure he looks better.
Rafael Palmeiro just looks like a guy with a mustache. He could be Tom Selleck for all we know!
Out of the Park Baseball 2026 is on Steam, at the very least. It's $50 but it's got the entire history of the sport. I've never seen so much information in one place, organized too.
-
@Zachtronics_XBL the problem, also, is that the sliders are too sensitive. At least on PS5. You barely touch the L/R sticks & it's all over the place.
I will look into that. Thanks for the info.
-
@ralph13m_PSN What do you mean about the sliders?
-
@Zachtronics_XBL I mean the like the height/depth for eye position or nose lengths. Those things.
-
@ralph13m_PSN You'll get used to that, especially if you use the digital pad
