The SDS apologists are something else. We are all entitled to our opinions but these people seem to ignore objective proof when it’s repeated right in their face to tirelessly support and champion the game like they own the company. It’s truly wild.
What’s truly wild, is hating a game, year after year, complaining about how much you hate said game, year after year, on a community forum, and buying said game, every single year.
That’s truly wild.
-
@BJDUBBYAH_PSN Oh don’t worry. I’m not gonna buy it again. It’s been slowly declining over the years in my opinion, and this year is the final straw. Pretty sure SD Studios doesn’t care…which is why they will get no more of my money.
-
@chrisham8380_PSN you’re blaming the casino.
-
@BJDUBBYAH_PSN I didn’t buy MLB The Show to play a casino game where rewards are given out by percentages. That’s what it’s become now, which is why I won’t be purchasing it again. Pack odds are one thing…but to complete the mode only for the percentage gods to say “sorry, try again” is not what I consider to be fun. And to have that happen 5 times is even less fun. The probability of loosing something at a 50% odds 5 times in a row is less than 4%, and my odds were much higher than that multiple times. So yes, I’m complaining because I don’t believe the “odds” that they post, and for a game like this, the “odds” should never be this bad.
-
@chrisham8380_PSN I got all 4 rewards playing 2 games at 49%; I’d say the odds are true.
-
And I got 1 reward playing 10 games at over 50% every time, so I say the odds are bs.
-
-
Or you can just save yourself the time and hassle and buy the cards.

Neither did I, I bought a baseball game with a fantasy mode, so I play it to play baseball, have fun and relax. And to unlock and collect cards to build squads. I don’t expect to be rewarded every time I play a three inning game.
-
That’s the real key. By making the odds bad enough people will just break down and buy the cards. Ultimately they would rather make $500 from 10 people than $100 from 50.
The amount is the same but hooking the whales, streamers, and addicts is far more profitable for them than casual gamers actually enjoying the product.
Money above all else and they are making that painfully clear. That’s the sad part, knowing the line in the sand has been drawn.
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN, addicts?
Here you are, playing a game you don’t even enjoy anymore, and when you’re not actually playing it, you’re thinking about it (and telling everyone else how it’s so bad that you’re going to quit).
But you don’t quit. You just can’t put it down.
Pot… kettle.

I will say it every time: DQ is not supposed to be a „I will do it and I want something 100%“, unless you have 100% winning-chance (which requires Goat) … It challenges people to try harder difficulties to have a very challenge experience.
I already had a few hard sweaty games … against the CPU. Never had that before, DQ made me have it. That is what DQ is … at least for me -
@BJDUBBYAH_PSN I don’t expect to get a reward every time I play a 3 inning game. I expect to get a reward that is displayed for completing a mode at some point, and not have to complete it now a minimum of 6 times to get the card. I don’t like buying cards with stubs if I can avoid it. I like earning the cards where I’m supposed to be able to earn them. I’ve done what is required FIVE TIMES and not gotten the reward…all because of stupid percentages, not because of anything I’ve done wrong. The fact that some people can complete this once and get all the rewards, and others have to try over and over and over again means that not everyone is getting the same experience playing the game, and that, in my opinion, is garbage.
You’re probably CONSIDERABLY better at this game than I am. Stop coming on here and telling people like me that the way I experience or perceive the game is wrong. This forum exists for me to let the developers know what my experience is playing the game. If you don’t agree or you are having a better experience than me, good for you. But I am not having the enjoyment I should, and I think they could tweak the game to make it more enjoyable for everyone.
-
@chrisham8380_PSN Take a coin, toss it 5 times … a few times a week. You will have some 5-0 and 3-2 … That is what 50% will do for you. It looks like you had some bad luck on your first 5 tosses … I had a 94% once and did not get the reward … bad luck, but still: awesome experience

You buy the game to have fun and relax,if you buy the game and expect everything to be handed to you then you shouldn't be playing
-
@YOSHI24_XBL However for most maps you have 100% (or close to it) on GOAT without playing a single challenge. Therefore there would be no incentive to actually play the DQ you just go straight to the stadium. So wouldn't it make sense to be able to increase your odds to more than 50% if you've successfully completed the whole map? Or to give you higher starting odds if you've already completed the map before without the Epic Card? They could even reset it to base once you've obtained the Epic Reward so you couldn't cheese the map.
I also don't think offline modes should only be worthwhile for the best players that's what BR Flawless and Ranked Seasons, and now Weekend Classic is for. I don't think there needs to be yet another mode that caters to the top players. And in its current iteration that's what DQ is. In my opinion

To be fair: We never had that … this game was always: win and get something. This is a change for a lot of people
-
@sbchamps17_NSW Holy [censored]. What don’t you understand. I’m not asking for things to be “handed” to me. But if I complete the map FIVE TIMES, I should have EARNED the reward that available by then.
-
@trfatboy22_PSN I am with you that … if you complete and succeed every mini-challenge, you should have a high percentage … But if you do that, you are definitely not a veteran player. And if you are higher, then this mode wants you to try HOF/Legend/Goat …
But back to sentence 2. If you complete it 100%, HOF should be higher than 75 (which it acutally is). Should it be higher on veteran than … say 60% … I am not sure (I tend to say „no“)
-
@YOSHI24_XBL But why? Why are only the good players able to get the rewards. And I’m not saying the percentages should be higher at the start. I’m totally on board with the better players getting rewards faster. But if I complete the map and beat the stadium challenges only to loose to RNG…my percentage should start a little higher so that I can eventually be guaranteed to get it at some point. Having to succeed at a map 6 times to still only “maybe” get the rewards if the percentage gods allow it is garbage.
