I'm convinced that those cards aren't in packs 99% of the time.

Those cards haven't been in my packs 100% of the time.
Seriously though: you aren't far off, there is a button to hit when on the pack and it shows how many times cards have been pulled, last time I checked (a week or 2 ago) the gatekeepers were 1.2 - 1.4% pulled. -

I need 4 more cards and of course they’re the big boys. Ohtani,Judge,Witt and Ramirez. With the pack odds being tough to pull diamonds and the prices going up it might be a while before I finish the collection. Kinda sucks too because id like to focus on the Rolen card but I can’t until I finish live series. Seriously starting to get frustrating.
I only need Ohtani, every day his price increases and my desire to login to grind DQ decreases.
Looks like I will complete LS whenever I do it. I can’t grind DQ anymore.

It’s gotta be far worse odds than that. Just look at how all the cards in live series are basically at quick sell except for the gatekeepers. Those are all 100K plus. It’s by design. I said a while ago those are likely 1 in 1000 packs or less.
SDS is clearly pop controlling the big guns to keep people pushing for collections. As usual though, they overcorrected and now are starting to drive people away. I’m in the same boat needing 6 of the big cards and am beyond sick of being disappointed. Feels hopeless and that’s the opposite of motivating to keep playing.
Heck even the diamond stadiums are rare as I’m missing more of those than at any time in previous versions of the game. Inclusion of low, non-live series, diamonds in all packs has also skewed the odds for the big cards even further.
-
I’ve pulled 2 gatekeepers in thousands of packs. Judge and Trout back when they were both about 150K. So either I’m extremely unlucky or the odds are much worse than 1% for the gatekeepers.

@TripleH-4481_PSN they should have to update the pack odds.
1:100 85 diamomd
1:500 86-87 diamond
1:1000 88-89 diamond
1:10000 90+ diamondsAnd that's assuming that sds doesn't just "turn off" the possibility of pulling gatekeepers. Just like they removed the profar card from packs, they can remove ohtani in hopes of people buying him.

I think your breakdown is likely very much on point. I’ve gone thru multiple stretches of 250 to 300 packs with no diamond pulls at all. I’ve seen a number of players post similar results on this forum.
In the end it’s not just bad luck. I’d love to know the number of the big cards that are actually even out there. I’ve done all the offline stuff and have opened at least 2000 packs earned in game with only judge and trout being the outliers.
At this rate I’d have to open another 12,000 packs for a chance at pulling the 6 remaining diamonds. This means I’d finish live series in about 6 months at this rate if I continued at my current pace. That’s not gonna happen. I’m very close to quitting altogether this year and playing older versions for my baseball fix.

@TripleH-4481_PSN I don't blame you for considering quitting. MlbTS 16-22, in played the game all the way through the real life mlb season. 23 I stopped when set 2 ended, and 24 I stopped when set 1 ended.
I thought the sets were what made me quit playing early. This year the game just feels like [censored]. They killed flipping for the most part, they nerfed stubs, AGAIN! I remember when gold uniforms qs for 1000, then it was 500, now it's 100. All gold players qs for 1000, and all diamond players qs for 5000. Roster update used to be every week. They used to put player exchanges into every program which kept the lower cards on the market from the obersaturation that we are currently seeing. They've changed all of this in the scummiest little weasel ways. Little by little over the past 4 years they change things to make it harder to earn stubs. That wouldn't be so bad if they also upraged the game, but this is still very much the same game we've had since mlbts14.
The biggest nut shot for me personally was the fact that the co-op glitch made it to where players who didnt want to cheat/be cheated, couldn't play the mode for 2 weeks, while the cheaters all got WS icons and banners. Allowing all these cheaters to make world series and not taking away the icons was a huge mistake. Making WS in DD is the top goal. Now it feels pointless. The last 2 days I've had multiple teammates with world series icons that can't hit or pitch.
Overall, they really don't care anymore. It's all about monetization.

Probably more unrestored copies of action comics #1 than judge

I have 250k and need ohtani and marte. Kicking myself for not buying ohtani earlier instead of buying trout, Jram lindor and Harper to finish those collections. I had really good pack luck in the first 2 weeks and pulled judge , Witt, Soto, skenes, tatis and a bunch of the lower 80’s. Thought that luck might continue but it has not lol. Watching ohtani get to 500k now is like a kick in the junk.

Man, for once in my life I can't really complain about pack luck. So far this year I've pulled:
Trout x3
Soto x2
Marte x1
Jram x1And a bunch of other 20-35K cards.
All from freebies as I never buy packs.

I've had the best pack luck I have ever had this year in like 6 years of playing DD. I guess maybe they nerfed everyone elses pack lack except for mine. Or maybe, just maybe, its that sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don't. Not everything is a grand conspiracy against you.

@aaronjw76_PSN yeah those guys are more common to pull. It's the ohtani and judge cards that no one seems to be able to pull. Yesterday I checked the companion app, and there were only 24 total ohtani cards for sell, and some of those were guys using him to park stubs at 750k.
Congrats on the luck. The best luck I've had was pulling jram twice in one day.
