I would urge you to join in the discussion ongoing at the Stadium Creator's sub-forum and add your voice to those who design custom stadiums. We are pressing SDS to finally provide the upgrades to Stadium Creator that we designers have been asking for that would allow us to create highly faithful matches for historic venues like Tigers Stadium, complete with the upper deck in the outfield reaching slightly across the outfield wall.
In our view, all of these understandable requests for historic stadiums would be rendered needless because if SC gave us the options to build them ourselves, then we would. Your only challenge would be to find the version of Tigers Stadium in the vault that best fit your desires.
My concept has long been for an upgraded SC that allows us designers to build a slew of stadiums from the 1880's (essentially municipal parks and fairgrounds) to the first generation of purpose built stadiums, to the ubiquitous multi-purpose stadiums of the sixties to eighties, and everything in between, including every single minor league stadium used today.
This, at least in my view, is the answer to this -- vice relying upon the SDS staff to create themselves these historic venues that folks like yourself legitimately want.

There are downloadable stadiums other players have made, but I would prefer Tiger Stadium in the game by default. 430 foot center field distance and all.

I'm guessing that they would have to renegotiate the stadium rights and likeness deals, like they had to with historic players years ago. This may be a tedious process compared to 20 years ago when EA licensed stadiums and players. This is one of the few areas I'll defend SDS on.

You'll have to source some raw data indicating the old stadiums have "licensing rights." Because I would tend to doubt they do. If that is the case, then it is a case of tort law gone stupid! I mean these are buildings for crying out loud! There is nothing other than branding that would earn copyright and since we're dealing with virtual computer renders, not even patented structural concepts would apply.
It's the stadiums folks want, not the copyrighted branding.

Speaking of old stadiums I'm glad SDS added the version of Forbes with the roof in right field. You can drop down to home plate and get an idea of what a prodigious home run Ruth's 714 was.
Some old stadiums apparently do have licensing rights. That's why Ebbets isn't in the game. Seems odd but apparently that's the case.
