They can't force players to do the face scan they put a booth at spring training stadiums and those who volunteer do so.

@Doppelganger39_PSN stop with that lame excuse! How do they have all the position players batting stances in the game then? Just got them in the “booth” or “tent” for that and didn’t scan their face? Most of these young prospects wanna be in this game and they have the face scans. Also when they add face scans through out the season where are they setting up this “booth” ? Like I said, they have the face scans. They’re just lazy and only add players that DD guys are using in their card decks. Hence all the veterans getting new scans (which is great) and then not adding any young guys or prospects. Even guys like Ryan McMahon and Nico hoerner are neglected bc no one uses them in that card game. Stop making excuses for SDS being lazy. Besides, I said they already had face scans! I asked for players they added who already had face scans. Said nothing about new face scans in this post but since you brought it up. Stop making excuses for a massive company

@Shua2168_MLBTS swing animations are built through mocap with people imitating there swings, not with the actual players. And even if they have face scans I’m assuming they will still need permission. I’m not gonna say SDS are perfect by any stretch but this is a stupid hill to choose to die on.

This couldn't be further from the truth. Last year I used the Ryan Mcmahon's all-star card for months and loved him. As soon as his finest came out, immediately put it in my lineup. I also use Nico Hoerner every year, partially because I'm a cubs fan, but also because I like his swing. Almost everyone I know use Mcmahon's cards, so it's clearly not through lack of use. Since you clearly don't play DD I think you should actually think about what you are saying instead of randomly throwing out reasons why certain face scans aren't in the game.

That’s hilarious, they have kids imitating pros batting stances?!!!! Multi million dollar industry can’t hire enough people to do it right? Makes sense! Thanks for clarifying that part but it still doesn’t excuse the fact of how many people are missing. Or explain where this magic “booth” is getting set up during the season when they do add face scans….

As part of the legal agreement with the MLBPA they can't approach the players and ask them.

Game developers have no job security and most have deplorable conditions. It’s not like MLBTS is making Sony’s balance sheet other than a footnote, so no, they won’t allocate 75% of their budget on batting stances captures and face scans. Plus the time and manpower needed to pull it off is insane.
This is not a public entity offering a community service; their first priority is profitability. Get back to us when you are out of high school and in the real world.

Btw those public entities can call it services all they want but they work for money. At least Sony has to compete for my money unlike public entities that just confiscate and waste my money without me having any choice.
