What are details on the pause timer in ranked?
-
I played one game and my opponent was constantly pausing (for shortish periods) and backpicking with his catcher every single time.
This guy never ran out of pause time.
My next game I played my opponent and around the 5th or 6th I pinch hit and my pause timer was like 9 seconds. Next inning I put hoby Milner in and there was like 5 seconds. Idk what happened other than me l2 during at bats here and there for pitch speeds I hadn't paused the game at all.
I pitched Milner for 3 innings cause I was scared I would get the forfeit I didn't even want to check. Fortunately my opponent quit around the 7th but Milner was in the red
I was the away team on both games so not sure what happened with my pause time?

They should've left the Pause Timer the way it was. That's one, of a few, changes to online play they made that I don't like.
The other is having to hold R2 and the push in on R3 to see your opponent's defensive alignment.

Maximum 1:30, +15 seconds whenever your half of the inning comes up when you’re batting. Quick, successive pauses (like going in/out, in/out, in/out quickly) drain 15 second chunks off for each pause instead of counting the 1 or 2 seconds actually taken to discourage pause spamming.
I haven’t gone below 43 seconds left in any 9 or 3 inning game this year. Everyone I’ve played that ends up with low pause time are people pausing without actually doing anything. Like this morning, an opponent ended the game with 13 seconds left in an event. They made 3 pitching changes and no other substitutions or defensive alignment changes. The vast majority of their pausing resulted in no actions taken.
Keep in mind, if there’s a suggested position player change (like pinch running for a ghost runner at 2B or a player is out of position), I believe the countdown for the automatic screen that pops up will just show 15 seconds counting down. This isn’t your pause time left. It’s just a timer for that automatic screen. You can back out of that and then pause normally and your actual pause time will appear.

Doesn't matter, doesn't seem to work anyways...we've played ranked coop where both opponents run out of time...and nothing happens, yet they'll pause again instantly and have like 30 seconds left again.
