BR used to be my favorite mode. I like creating new teams each run and being forced to use different players than i would not usually use. Finding good silvers and bronzes and even a common i could use here and there is fun but this year i am finding it difficult to want to play the mode. Ive never gone flawless. Ive had 9 wins before but i would say i average about 3 or 4 wins a run. So why would i pay 1500 stuns to play a mode that i have a super tiny chance or getting the reward to make the mode worth my stubs and time. I know i get a pack out of it and i could get other cards if i get so many wins but most likely im getting a silver or gold. I understand why they went to a multiplayer program so you can play the game in whatever online mode you want but the removal of the BR program and still having a cost to enter makes playing it illogical. I get why they want an entrance fee to stop from redrafting over and over until you get the perfect team but i suggest a good balance would be 1 free entry every 24 hours and if you want to re- enter before your cool down then you pay the stub fee. Or i guess i could just get better.

I really think this could be the make or break for me this year. BR had always been my favorite mode and I have no problem with the entry fee. I was like you and have pulled off some 9 win runs, but it was more the format and program that caused me to play it. This year, the lack of a BR program has been a huge let down. I was even fine with the system where when you got the flawless reward through the program even though it was a "no sell". I haven't thought of playing online and I don't see it changing. If anything, I am more likely to play ranked now since it is nine inning games and progress will work towards the same program. It also goes towards the weekend classic that looks like it could be fun. Would love to see the old days of BR return, but I don't see it happening.

Do not neglect events. I know there isn't event cards this year but it is a good place to play a few games to warm up before ranked and also a good place to get specific tasks done. For example i will try to get my stolen bases done for the multiplayer program in the events because it does not matter if i win or lose.

I feel the same way. I loved drafting teams and even if I didn't get but 2 or 3 wins sometimes it was fun and that meant I could just go draft again. But withe no rewards (events too) plus the buy in why would I bother. I've played one run so far lol. I like your idea of the time based free buys and heck they could even keep the multi-player program split amongst the three modes. But I gotta agree here SDS needs to bring back separate rewards for all three modes. If not they are gonna kill the game.

I'll say I'm an "average" on-line player. I've always hovered in the 600's in RS. Once MLBTS introduced the BR "program" a few years ago, I was hooked. I loved building the different lineups, and not having to play against a "god-squad". I liked working the program, getting the pxp's, etc. I didn't mind the "non-sell" rewards, as I never went 10-0 (I did go 10-1 once last year, but it was a fluke and I was never close to flawless).

This year, I played my "free" entry to get my "1 hit in BR" task done for the new Multiplayer program. I don't see myself playing this mode again, sadly.

So, I'll use the event to grind stats - I'm using the current event to get SB's (my opponents must be wondering why I never take 2nd when I hit a ball into the gap). I will say that in general I'm enjoying the game this year, so the BR changes are a bummer.

Why even pay for Battle Royale if all 3 modes get you same rewards. Ranked and events are free.

Because BR is a mode where everybody has to draft a team. So you play people who have the same (or other) holes in the team as you do.
That is at least why I like to play it. I will try out the mode in the late game cycle. I need all the stubs that I have and I cannot go flawless
