Thank goodness for the DH (Poor planning by SDS?)
-
I would probably mark this down as just poor planning by the SDS live team and it is not that big of a deal since there is a DH.
Cardinals..
The Second card earned in Team Affinity is Carlos Beltran, a RF with no secondary position.
The Collection reward is Larry Walker, a RF with no secondary position.Yes, I can play one of them at DH but it seems strange to reward two players with the same position and no secondary position so early in the game.

@Dolenz_PSN I feel like they dropped a lot of Secondaries from cards that used to contain them in the past. Maybe it's just the LS I'm noticing it on, but I was trying to load up with 3B to hit Allens 5 HR w/ 3rd Baseman. Muncy doesn't have a 2B secondary which he's always had. Mark Vientos I thought at least had a SS secondary last year? Bunch of others that I'm like, I know I used you in Position "X" last year, why can't I this year.

They did, and they mentioned that they did. And I can't really fault them for that. Muncy has not played 2B since 2022 so I can understand that not being on his live series.
That is why I just called it poor planning and not a complaint about lacking secondaries.

I'm not a rangers fan in particular but I love Michael young and kinsler and they both only play ss and 2b, terribly I might add, and the 2 best live series are seager and semien lol

I've got a similar problem as a cubs fan. I picked the Samy Sosa from the preorder pack, only playable in right. I have Kyle Tuckers live series, only playable in right. And now Seiya just got a good diamond in the Tokyo series program, also only playable in right. I still have multiple bronzes in my Cubs theme team yet will have to put a diamond on my bench.
-
I understand them wanting to drop some secondaries, but I don’t understand more of the outfielders not being able to move around the outfield, especially the corner spots. Infielder positions I get.
-
Regarding secondary positions I wonder if they looked into the year of the card and looked to see of they played anywhere else that season. There is some attention to details in some areas and missing in others

Ugh, yes I noticed this too. Pretty glaring, especially since Cards have a few non defense players like Burleson, Baker and Gorman that need that spot. LF secondaries wouldn't hurt flashbacks/legends since the cards are part of their historic performance

They did.in the stream they mentioned that if it was a single year card it would only have secondaries of the positions played that year.

Yeah they need some attention to with player models for example lol
Burleson is bulky in the mid section, but he is a stick figure in the game. -

I just checked Larry Walker did play 1 game in CF that year. But even if they gave him CF I am not sure I would want a guy with 60 fielding and 46 speed covering CF.
Beltran only played RF during the year of his card.

I wonder if they will give us a 2 way Ricky Ankiel this year haha
