I'm wondering what comes after the draft. Sure the high school and college stuff looks fun. But once you're on a team. Do you still do any off friend stuff? Interviews, sponsorships or anything like that? Or is it just more the same. Play game, upgrade character rinse and repeat?

MLB the show has gotten real good at making the first 20 mins of RTTS fun. But dull after.

@CanadianGamer_03_PSN Sounds about right for SDS. But thanks for the reply. Looks like I'll be passing on it. Few high school games and couple college games isn't worth $75 imo

Not true. My RTTS avatar player is male.

I was the second overall pick in the first round for the "2023" draft and had a press interview after walking on the stage with my MLB hat on my head and shaking hands with the MLB Commissioner. During that interview, I was asked about my plans and I announced that I would accept the offer from a college. That decision was them implemented in the game evolution to have me report to South Carolina and play the 2024 College Championship Series (untrademarked name version for the College World Series).

Then, in the "2024" MLB Draft, I was made the first overall selection and received another press interview where the option to go to a college was no longer present, but I did get to speak on my level of excitement and anticipation about playing for my MLB team. Just like with the obvious cause-effect replies in the first interview, I am sure the replies I chose had some behind-the-scenes impact on future developments.

If you want to be spring loaded for negativity, I can't stop you. But, your premise is factually incorrect. I got plenty of press interviews post game as both a high school player and college player. Also, as a high school player and college player I received several post game discussions with my coach, and had scouts for colleges speak with me several times as a high school player.

The replies in all these interviews were used to guide game decisions.

@PriorFir4383355_XBL I think you're missing my point of the post. I'm saying after college and high school.

Last year SDS sold us on this new and improve pre draft stuff. And it was fun. Bit after you're drafted you go to the minor leagues and you play game after game after game. Then in the pros. Same thing. There is zero choice or any off field stuff. It becomes dull and boring quick.

I'm hoping this year is not the same. But it appears to be

By that reply, it seems clear to me you find playing baseball to be boring. OK, I suppose too much repetition can cause anything to become boring. But, the point of a baseball video game is to play baseball games!

So, yes, in a very real sense, MLB The Show 25 really is more of the same in terms of playing video baseball games! But, the way the system works has been significantly changed and I've already written paragraphs of details on just the changes in RTTS. I don't play DD so others will need to add their thoughts there.

BTW: I would have preferred to see the high school season last for around 20 games to replicate an average year's high school baseball schedule, including regional and state championships. Then, also, to see all three seasons of college ball play itself out, including conference play leading to Regional, Super Regional, and CWS if you can get there. And finally, yes, I would have loved to see full modeling of at least the ACC, SEC, and Big-10 conferences. The idea that the ACC is year-to-year by RPI the best or second best college baseball conference and we don't have a single ACC team in the mix seems off target to me.

I hope we see further development of the college and high school play options in RTTS for MLB 26.
