Hitting options

Does anyone remember “Pure Anolog Hitting?” Only had to use the right stick to completely control your swing. Will that ever be available again? I prob won’t ever buy this game again without it

@Red-glove15_PSN, it still is. It's just Timing, but with analog input instead of button (you'll see in the game controls section that the analog stick is used to swing to the inside, middle, or outside to give you some control over swing location).
I used it through most of '24 before finally switching to Zone, as it's pretty [censored] hard to use in the 700s. A lot of fun, though, and feels the most like taking a swing (especially if you take the time to get analog stride down).

So, I bought the ‘23. And swing location wasn’t able to be controlled with the analog stick, you had to use a button or it took two moves basically

@Red-glove15_PSN, with Timing (selecting analog input with Timing is the "pure analog" hitting introduced a few years earlier), you can control placement to a limited degree; you're basically dividing the entire strike zone into 3 columns, where, for a right-hander, pushing straight up is the middle of the zone, diagonal-left+up is the inside third of the zone, and diagonal-right+up is the outside third of the zone.
Here's a link that shows the hitting controls for Timing (scroll down to The Show 23 Hitting Controls, and notice the very last listing, labeled "Direction in Zone"): https://www.videogamer.com/guides/how-to-hit-in-mlb-the-show/
You don't get the same placement control that you do with the Zone interface, for sure, as it's dumbed-down, for lack of a better term, but you do need to pick the correct third of the zone in Timing/analog for solid contact. I used that method for a couple of years in roughly 800 Ranked games.
If you're looking for more placement control than that, you'd need to switch over to Zone. I did, and I still use the analog stick to swing. I'm still getting used to that, but it's a lot of fun.

Thanks for the input
