I know some people wanted some stat grinds...
-
My biggest question is if they did what they usually have a tendency to do and over-compensated with the changes.
They probably over-compensated when they added sets and seasons and things became a little too casual. Now, the pendulum is swinging the other direction so we'll need to see how far it swings.
I'm still concerned about those All-Star and Finest vouchers? Are those players going to be locked to those vouchers so you can't get them unless you do the grind for every team? Will I be missing out on 25 or more All Star and Finest players because I concentrated all my team affinity time on The Cardinals and don't want to commit the time to grind all 30 teams?
-
@Dolenz64_XBL It sounds like they will add other missions later, so those missions are optional if you want to grind hard to get them faster when the time comes. Good way to satisfy both types of players.

I am pretty sure they will add new TA with new missions. The my journey program is self enclosed so to get to that final reward you will have to do those optional missions as the equalled 1.5 million points. The final reward was like 1.45 million

I think there is a valid concern that if an all star you really want shows up and you ignored that team all year its a large grind, as opposed to prior year where you would only do the new TA. But I also assume these will be captain cards for theme teams with lesser value outside of theme teams
I am really curios to see if 2025 is the year of the theme team. I really hope so, I would play online more if I was facing theme teams instead of random everyones a switch hitter nonsense

@CDNMoneyMaker93_XBL They said they would be adding to it. If you want to finish it before they add more, yes. But, they specifically said at some point the collection won’t be necessary.

Are we sure the Cards will have an All-Star this year?
Sorry... Couldn't resist...

Hey, I can't fault you for the joke. Lots of young guys that need to step up their game this year (Nolan Gorman, Jordan Walker and even Lars Nootbaar) but I think one player people may be overlooking is Contreras. Hopefully his move to 1B will keep him healthy all season.
That said, I would be very surprised if any Cardinal made it by fan vote. Other teams just seem to do a better job of getting their fans to vote.

Things I wonder though..
-
Will they add rewards/missions to the initial TA reward path. Yes there is a massive jump in needed points between the last two rewards but the optional missions combined I believe account for over 1 million TA points. Any maniac who got through those would just automatically receive the new content.
-
They said new TA content rollouts would show up as a new item under the My Journey option. Which again makes me wonder if content added later will be it's own thing, separate from the main TA reward path.
-
The Finest Voucher at 365K is a voucher for an end game card. It specifically mentions picking it up in November. Are they going to add more cards between the Finest Voucher and the Icon? It would not make much sense to add lesser cards after the finest voucher.
I am leaning towards the opinion that the TA Timeline we saw today is what it is and any new content will be a separate reward path with the only thing in common being that you may be able to advance both by playing with a team's cards.

Thats how I took it
I also didnt see anything repeatable in the batch of missionsMy guess is that the all star missions arent needed for all star, but everything else is. We will know more 3 days from now.
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS that’s how I saw it as well but I reckon the branching path will be classed as a collection reward on the main path to give you a jolt of TA points.
-
I believe she said the 2nd TA would be around the all-star break, plenty of time to get the final or be close to it,has to be an alternate path for it,wouldn't make sense to add rewards that some would automatically earn, they'd want you to play for them.

This is exactly what theyve done, you can get vouchers for the All Stars ahead of time so they are yours when they drop.
Its not like they wont have an all star program as well for you to earn things, as well as the inning tracks

I wouldn't be surprised if the voucher is a redeemable item in the All Star TA program that instantly unlocks everything. So you get rewarded for playing your teams TA so much when that contest drops then you have 29 other programs to grind.
If it works that way I think it will be cool

Okay, I just went through the video slowly and here are the missions payouts that I saw.
- Start Here - 5,000
- Quick Impact Missions x 8 - 40K
- PXP Missions x 3 - 30K
- On The Rise Missions x 8 = 60K
- Season Standouts X 4 = 60K
- All Star Missions X 3 - 60K
- Collection X 1 - 20K
- Journey to the Finest X 3 - 90K
Total 365,000 TA Points
365,000 points is exactly what you need to get the voucher for the Finest card. That makes sense
What doesn't make sense is that (and maybe I missed something here) every mission up to and including the collection mission only earns you 275K and the All Star Voucher is earned at 285K. So doing everything up until the Journey to The Finest leaves you 10K short of the All Star Voucher.
It's possible that I missed a mission that pays out more than I listed but then I would think I would also come up 10K short on the Journey to the Finest Mission.
-
@Dolenz64_XBL they will most likely add to the path or integrate other programs into it. For example, I can see city connect programs being tied into TA. Where you can earn and collect the uniform for more xp. Similar to how each teams collection reward can be collected and add xp to the TA program
-
@Dolenz64_XBL but if they put the other TA drops in this same path then you will have additional missions. TA 2 will be before all star break and voucher, and then more before finest voucher.
-
They said it will probably take on average 2 hours to get to the captain in TA. Once we put our teams together, we'll be passively making progress towards the vouchers just by playing. For anyone who can play 2 hours a day itll take roughly one month to finish all TA up until the captain. So by end of April at the lastest, we should have solid teams built and then work on the passive part of the stat grind.
And before its said, i get it. Some people like to talk down to people who have better time management skills and throw out the "I have a job and kids and a life etc" nonsense....and thats great. Most of us do as well. But if you cant get an hour and a half or two hours to yourself in a 24 hour day, thats a you problem. Not a someone else problem.

Naw, it just means they're well-adjusted with the proper priorities. (And I say that as one who doesn't.)

Yeah i dont buy that. Maybe im the only one on the planet who's like this, but i dont work nonstop from the second i wake up in the morning til i pass out at night. After dinner, i generally have a good 2-3 hours at night of wind down time.
