Halloween Program and Mandatory Showdown
-
I didn’t make it through the first time. I’m sure there are others the same way. I’m not sure if I’m gonna try it again. I think the one thing that bothers me the most about the showdown is the fact you have to pay 500 stubs to play them. You don’t have to pay to play moments. Why do we have to pay play showdown?
-
I think you usually make back more than 500 stubs in rewards along the way. I can see this being annoying in April, but anything under about 10,000 stubs doesn't even register in November.

And I am not good enough to play online so I don’t get those rewards and if showdown let me restart from where I failed I may be more intrigued

Absolute L that the Showdown is mandatory. Hoping SDS fixes this. The whole point is to let people play the way they want. Giving players options, even if it takes a little longer. Making a showdown mandatory to finish a program isn’t right.
I'll be honest, I believe when they say play the way you want that they were only ever referring to the main XP path since XP is gained everywhere.
I failed the Showdown on my first attempt. I chalked it up to me having a bad night. I don't know if I will try again. There are multiple programs that I have not finished because they would require me to play in ways I don't really enjoy. I don't expect them to change the program for me though.
-
@NWOStunna_PSN good dont play.
-
@LIONED-33_XBL
I won’t. Thanks for the positive advice. -
@NWOStunna_PSN hey its great advice, i just saved you crying to your parents and here on the message boards. Stressfree. Have fun, go play some Lego Star Wars.
-
The showdown wasn't that hard to complete unlike others this year
-
Why do people have to be such douchebags? For real.
As far as the stubs go, you should be printing money at this point in the cycle -- it's so easy to get packs and duplicate diamonds...500 stubs at this point is like 100 earlier in the cycle...
-
Personally if I'm struggling with showdown, I take it one objective at a time and not try to do it all at once unless I'm feeling it.
-
@bostondirtdog21_PSN Score runs is really the only objective...not sure how you don't focus on solely doing that.
-
New showdowns give you like 25 outs to get 3 runs or something. If you have a hard time and still want to complete you can always list draft fast guys, bunt to 2nd and then do bunt and runs. With that many outs it should still work fine
-
I do. But if my head isn't into it then I start swinging and not paying attention - end up losing the showdown, getting frustrated, rinse and repeat. I like them and finish them - just sometimes I'm not ready for a straight grind

Agreed that showdowns being mandatory is garbage. There are lots of fake tough guys here that will tear you down and say showdowns are easy. Just ignore or block them as they are clowns that enjoy being jerks. Showdowns wouldn’t be so bad if they allowed you to continue from a fail point and if they didn’t play completely differently from every other game mode. It’s painfully obvious the defensive sliders and pitcher stamina and confidence are juiced up to increase the challenge. Showdowns are by far my least favorite game mode because it plays unnaturally and just feels “off” even when you succeed. Good luck if you choose to keep trying and if not and SDS doesn’t offer any alternative options to complete the program just move on. This year SDS has made a ton of mistakes along the way and have actually managed to make 23 look organized in comparison.

I've also been disconnected from the Show online twice during Showdowns this year.
And since I'm obsessed with Parallels, I can't stand that all the time spent on Showdowns could be better used with my actual team.

The thing is this is a game and it's supposed to be FUN. From some of the comments on this board in the last couple of days, mandatory showdowns for some people aren't fun. I'm not asking to ban showdowns. Just don't expect me to go after them every time.

I don't know why they're now going away from a good formula that worked (you CHOOSE between a Showdown and multiple missions) and now making them mandatory.
Makes absolutely no sense, especially at this point in the game cycle.

All they need to do is add a repeatable use Halloween cards pxp

I don't understand why people hate showdown so much. When it was first introduced it was a headache. But it has gotten easier and easier every year. You could have finished showdown in the time it took to make this post.
Stop being a disingenuous asshole.
No, showdowns can NOT be completed in the time it took you to post this.
In fact, they typically take 30 minutes+ which is the big problemYou don't get to use your own cards and its tedious to get through
And if you have a bad run on a mid/late stage you just completely wasted your time with nothing to show for itOn top of that they inexplicably cost a tiny amount of stubs, which granted I don't personally care about but its just unnecessary.
Every single time I play a showdown I wish I was playing any other game mode. To me there are zero positives.

Whoever told you that playing your way was a thing? Its just a fact of life you're gonna have to get used to. You're not gonna get everything the easy way. Sometimes you gotta do stuff you dont wanna do.
