Current state of the game

I feel like this franchise has really regressed from mlb the show 21. Everything they fixed in previous years seems to have been undone. Check swings, foul balls, perfect contact foul balls, crazy 10 foot diving plays…etc. the content for mlb the show 23 was heavily recycled and the content for 24 has been bad other than season 2. Where is MVP Mike trout, 99 mickey mantle, and others that I know San Diego studios has the rights to. Season 3 starting with out of position player [censored] was just a huge turn off for anybody who’s not 12 and plays competitive

Anyone who plays Ranked "competitively" is fielding a team of Core cards, 4 wildcards, and a mix of Out of Position and live series cards right now. Some of these cards are absolutely perfect for this part of season 3. That's not an opinion, that's a fact. Fire up a Ranked game and see.
EDIT: I admire anyone that can hit with Biggio. I know it's user error for me, but that's why I admire you if you can

I agree the check swings, high jumps are so annoying! I also feel like there are a lot of times I am swinging perfect and they call a strike. Seems like to me SDS makes it harder during double XP. I am also not a fan of the oop players kinda ruins it for me.

People look back at these previous seasons with some Rose Colored Glasses.
Check Swings, Foul Balls, diving plays, perfect perfect outs, etc. These are things people have been complaining about for many years.
In 21 we did not get a 99 Mickey Mantle until Mid Sept. I believe a 99 Mike Trout that year wasn't released until Nov 29th.
In Sept Topps now cards were releasing 97s
On Oct 7th we were still getting a 96 overall cards in the Sept player of the month program.I'm not defending the current state of the game or trying to convince anyone to like it. But let's not pretend or believe that 21 was some perfect iteration of DD that nobody complained about at the time.

24 The Show is my first time playing so I can’t speak for previous games I just know that it is really bad and annoying. I like the game I just think SDS has things they should improve on. Obviously they don’t listen to us if it has been like this on previous games.

SDS absolutely listens. They just dont always listen to the people we, personally, want them too.
I absolutely hate programs being so light this year, with 3-5 cards each and taking little effort to complete. Its a monumental downgrade from last year, and has singlehandedly cut my playtime in half this year.
It was also a change made because SDS listened to player feedback
As for whiffing on perfect timed swings, thats because you are using timing or directional I assume. It happens, and it should.

I'm not 12 and while it did not seem like a good idea,oops is actually pretty interesting and fun,so definitely not a turn off for me,all those other issues aren't limited to last year and this.
The only thing is there should have been a pre release S3 stream, they wanted goofy off the wall messing around having fun,and they executed that. text on the blog didn't convey that but a stream would have,the feedback before was very negative because of that,and there is a lot of positive after ,........

I never played check swings from 21 but I can tell you right now the system the have currently is horrible. That's just one point.
Never discount the salty "I wish it was the old way". Blizzard knew to not make that mistake again with their biggest IP -

People have been wanting OOP for a while now and SDS finally came through, people are actually really loving this new OOP series. This game doesn't have to be as real as the real mlb game

I built a squad with the Cruz and Verlander captains that is really fun. Gotta have 4 wild cards to make it work, but my goodness.

@BJDUBBYAH_PSN As a Padres fan, I’ve been tinkering with Cruz and the Padres pitching captain. It gets Gwynn over 100 power both sides. Also using 99 Salas and Tatis. It really can’t be done well enough until season 4 though with only 4 wildcards. I’ll have to try Verlander with Cruz. One of my favorite things to do is tinker around with the different captains and try to find an optimal lineup.

And don’t ever buy stubs with money. They are way too easy to make.

I just said that there were complaints about many of those same aspects even in 21. In fact check swings were far far worse in those older versions as it was much easier to check swing.
