how do you make one runner tag and the other stay? you would think you'd be able to designate the one runner with right stick, but that doesn't work. am I missing something?

Point the left stick to the runner and press the button of the base you want him to advance to . You can go to custom practice to try it

If you use button running, just press the button of the runner you want to send and then hit the D-Pad of the base you want him to go to. So if you've got 2nd and 3rd and you don't want to send the guy on 2nd. Hit Square while the ball is in the air. And then Down on the D-Pad when the Tag Up Icon lights up.

@GixxerRyder750_PSN interesting, I do it different, I move the stick to the player I want for example I push left for the runner on 3rd a little arrow turns blue on the diamond that represents the runners ( top right on the screen)and then press A ( xbox) to have him go home.

@jaychvz_XBL I think that's Analog Style Baserunning controls. There's 2 different styles to choose. Just a different way to skin the cat

yea I get what y'all are saying, and that's how it should work, but it doesn't. for example, I'll highlight my runner on 2nd on a deep fly to right. usually the guy on first takes a few steps off towards 2nd, and if he does this, my guy tagging from 2nd will take off and 1st base occupier will retreat to 1st. However, sometimes they both stay on the base as to tag, and when I designate the guy on 2nd via stick, when I tag, they both run. I have manual base running on. I think it's a glitch. thanks for yalls input!

Are you still holding the stick towards the lead runner when you hit L1?
I don't think I've done it many times with 1st and 2nd, but 2nd and 3rd comes up a lot for me and I'm pretty sure I'm holding the stick towards 3rd when I hit L1 and have never had a problem, maybe when you release the stick,it still shows targeting the lead runner but it actually switches to all when let go of stick?

that's a good thought, I usually just designate the runner and then let the the stick go back to resting position, I'll try holding it down.

@GixxerRyder750_PSN welp, I guess I'm unfamiliar with which button to press then? It's not a problem if I'm trying to steal one base and keep the other on, think 1st and 3rd, steal second with L1 after designating the runner.

You can't control an individual runner if you are using automatic baserunning. You would have to change your setting to get the options discussed above. Are you sure it is not on automatic baserunning for the mode you are playing?

I tend to advance all until I see where the ball is going and if needed point to the base runner that I want to retreat and press the button to the corresponding base that I want him to go back to.
