Team Captains

I’d love to try some different team builds, but we’re half way through the game cycle and I have 6 of the 60! What an awful way to implement team captains. At least put them in packs and take my [censored] stubs. Come on.

Agreed. I got absolutely raped by a captain build on ranked the other night. 13 of his 15 hits were bombs. Even if he missed the [censored] ball early or late the ball sailed. It was brutal. First time I’ve been mercy all year.

@RAisEdByGoAt_XBL They certainly aren’t optimal builds, but you can put a competitive team together and we might see more lineup variety. I like what they did with the team captains, but they executed it poorly. We should have all of them or at least most of them by now. They also should have chosen better players for some of them. In what world was Drew Pomeranz a captain or even a noteworthy player for the Padres? Just one example of many bad player choices.

Random and disorganized seems to be a running theme for this year’s game. Lots of head shaking and asking what were or are they thinking.

Considering they are Core cards that will be useful at the start of each season, I find it annoying they haven't been putting more of them out. My guess is they dropped it because of people complaining they don't like captains.

What I don't understand is why not make them like the Cornerstone Captains, so that you can trade one in and try an new one. I have done that for both Seasons, and it was fun building the different lineups with the different Captain cards.

That’s a great alternative plan. If they really want lineup diversity they should release all of them and they should be overpowered to boot. Instantly makes the majority of cards useable.

I may be the only one but I don’t like how rare these team captains are to get

They should be periodically releasing them in programs, so that you can actually collect and use them. We have no idea what cards are getting released in the Season, yet, the only time you get them is right at the beginning or right at the end. So you are either guessing, holding on to the pack, or using them at the very end.

Agreed, I also want to use other pitchers and hitters but haven't been able to because SDS doesn't release them much
