Controller disconnecting during batting

Anyone have issues with their controller not responding while batting but works with everything else? Never had this issue til today and everything else works on game but any game mode controller stops responding and won’t let me bat. Not controller, works fine with other games. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My friend that we play coop with gets this randomly, only game where anything like it happens. His controller will cut out mid swing and come back on, he’s tried different controllers etc, playing on series x.
