Tips For Common Connection Issues with TS
-
I see connection posts and issues CONSTANTLY on the forums. The SDS servers may be run by Trevor out of a crack van in Los Santos BUT you can do some things to help the stability when logging into the game's menus. Unfortunately, there is not much you can do about PvP and your opponents' connections but these steps will help you in general Show usage and it's interface.
-Connection Type (Ethernet >>>> WiFi)
The most effective network connection you can have to your console is hardwired Ethernet. This eliminates almost all spotty connections that WiFi commonly has. If you have multiple devices connected wirelessly to your router your connection can go sideways quickly as your router battles who it gives priority to. Usually that's the device with the strongest signal unless you've modified your routers settings to prioritized bound IPs. If you don't have an Ethernet connection go to Amazon and find some Cat5 cables based on the length you would need to run from your console to your router. Always get an extra 10 ft from your measurements.
When plugging into your router use the 1st available port. By default, many routers will prioritize the first port and in many cases they offer faster transport speeds in the first port. If you have a fiber 1GB router there is usually a 1GB port but I don't think the PS5 can even draw 1GB but just use the best one you can.-Port Forwarding
Portforward.com/mlb-the-show-23/
Portforward.com/playstation-5/
Portforward.com/PlayStation-network/
Portforward.com/xbox-live/
Portforward.com/nintendo-switch-online/Port Forward is a pretty great site to help you open any possible ports that the server you are trying to reach may have. They do not have ports for 24 but I believe they are the same as 23 and should help.
If you are not familiar with how to do this and what your specific router needs follow each step on this site carefully and take your time. It's not too complicated once you take the steps to learn about port forwarding.
Have your router model number and router IP address ready cause the site can even help you with that specific model when navigating the web interface. YouTube is also a big help here if you don't know anything about port forwarding.I do recommend opening ports for whatever console and service you are on as this is just another way to help stabilize your server connections and consistency.
Run speed tests regularly and test other games to get an idea of your local networks performance. If you have a PC on a hardline ether connection run CMD (Command Prompt) and ping Google with command
Ping 8.8.8.8
And monitor the results. This will tell your latency and give you an idea of how well your network is performing for general Internet use.Again, unfortunately MLB The Show is a P2P network connection when it comes to PvP gameplay. If your opponents are playing on toasters in the jungles of Vietnam you will not be able to fully prevent freeze offs but, you can at least know that it wasn't your fault.
I still have the occasional freeze off and disconnection from the game and I have 1GB fiber with a high end gaming router hard lined directly to my PS5. It's the nature of the beast with TS but all of these things can be a rather noticable increase in performance not just in MLB TS but your other games like NCAA Football 2025.
If you are interested or trying to get it to work and just need some help I would be happy to assist, just comment below. If I have time I don't mind an invite to party chats to help you either.
Good luck!

If it's 5G cellular there's not much else you can do. I do believe T Mobile has a modem with Ethernet ports available but unfortunately you are operating on a cellular network and much like star link or other satellite communication those are just limitations in the network technology.
What I would do if I HAD to use cellular or satellite is buy a solid gaming router that can connect to the modem and modify the router settings to benefit my connected d vices as much as possible.
Sorry I don't believe there is a fix for the T-Mobile issue until the network tech improves.

Idk where you're from and I'm not going to pry but if you can get ATT, Spectrum, or any other internet provider that's NOT satellite or cellular you can easily get $40 plans for 50+gbs of speed. No way TMobile is cheaper than $40 a month.

in illinois and it is the cheapest at 30$ included with our phone bills

@DaKid24167_XBL understood. I'm not here to sell on behalf of corporations. I only speak from personal exp. Outside of gaming internet is important to my line of work. I pay for all I can get to ensure successful quality performance
