Let Wild Cards Count Toward TA
-
I see a lot of complaints about not getting to use cards earned from the previous season. Also see gripes about being forced to use cards you don't like to earn TA points to unlock new cards. One likely easy solution is to allow wild cards to count toward TA.
Use those few cards you like and have fun with the grind. Instead of making it feel like work. We don't get that many wild cards, so this wouldn't be game-breaking. It would be a huge "w" that this game really needs.
-
It would be better to remove wildcards altogether and create a separate ranked queue with no limits. The point and frustrations is having sets and seasons in the first place. Adding them to TA when they are wildcarded won't stop the complaints of having to reset your squad progress every two months.
I don't want to have to use them in the first place. People who have hours of time a day to offer don't seem to understand the grind for wildcards and regaining all your squad overall progress is not enjoyable in the slightest. That doesn't include the [censored] you have to go through game to game to get that progress done.

I agree with you. But I don't expect SDS to change seasons. They seem committed to it. For those who are just grinding for TA, whether ranked or offline, an easier to achieve win is to make those wild cards worth something. No point using them for grinding when they don't count, so it's an offered fun feature that just doesn't work. Make that work and it's a win-win. But agree, it doesn't solve everything.

Wild cards don't seem to count for the ranked missions also, or at least for me.
-
@Franchize34_PSN Just further reinforcing that wild cards aren't super useful as they are now. But they could be if they made wild cards count as current season cards. Not sure how hard that is to code, but it would be one change that would bring more fun engagement.
-
@RegWombat_PSN I suppose you do not play that much and want more XP, right? And you only have 1 WC rn?
If both are „yes“, why is it „a huge W“ if prox 1/9 of your players count towards TA?
Unless you did not wildcard a pitcher, what is the significance of this improvement?
How far are you in TA? For Context: I was on vacation and I completed the TA-conquests with most Core-cards (and some occasional TA-cards, most of them pitchers). After 1 week, I have only 2 divisions left (with 85%) … -
@RegWombat_PSN They wont change seasons this year, but if they don't go back to the power creep and no seasons for MLB the Show 25, I can see a HUGE amount of the player base skipping the game.
-
Wild cards are useless for offline players unless they count for missions
-
After a handful of Strategic exchanges from S1 "No Sell" cards. I finished up TA this past weekend after my first 3 or 4 TA2 Mini Season Games. I didn't use my Wildcard. Looking back...if I had...I still would've finished it fairly quickly...You're getting most of your TA progress from your Pitcher. So you might have had 1-2 less hits and a couple less PXP per game...Big Whoop. It's not that big of a dealbreaker.

@YOSHI24_XBL I'm just about done TA, so it's not that it's difficult to do. I don't think anyone is suggesting that it is. What I am suggesting is, as a minor change that doesn't fix every issue, it would be more "fun" to use cards from the previous season and have them count for things like TA or season award drop missions. Right now they don't. If I want to use Jimmy Rollins because it lets me enjoy the game, how much more fun if he's not taking up the slot of someone who could be grinding me points. As it is, its better to not use wild cards and I'm not sure that's what SDS intended.
-
I feel like wild cards not counting towards TA is a glitch. just like the bosses not being core incoherent.
-
@BLAISEBLAISE_PSN I think so too. Or at least just not completely thought through. Fixing the wild card issue would allow any boss to function like a core, so it's at least a step in the right direction.
-
Better yet allow a voucher syestem to be used on any team affinity with negro league. Cards. People may avoid these cards since they don’t bring any stats to the team affinity.
-
@virusts_XBL I don't use the negro league cards exactly for this reason. They slow down an already slow grind. Same reason I don't use wild cards.
-
@RegWombat_PSN valid point … I still don‘t see it as a major W, but on the other hand … why not

Wait... really? I feel like mine were accumulating stats towards the ranked missions but I wasn't paying much attention tbh so I could be wrong.
-
I don't use Wild Cards or the NL cards for this reason. I don't have a ton of time to grind out TA and need all my players on my team to count towards it.

This would be a welcome addition for sure
