SDS please make Wildcards count towards S2 TA
-
I know a lot of people have mentioned it already. Frankly it makes no sense and seems like either a huge oversight by SDS or just a really bad decision. It completely defeats the purpose of Wildcards for people grinding Season 2 Team Affinity. So this big intended highlight of your Season Program, that you want people to grind for and be excited to use (like “oh man which card am I going to use for my wildcard slot?”) has for many people, become completely and instantly useless..
I grinded FOREVER to finally unlock Rollins the last day of Season 1. Now I unlock the first wildcard slot and find out using him doesn’t even count towards S2 TA!
Even once people finally unlock all 4 wildcard slots, 85% of our rosters will still need to be Core or Season 2 cards. So this whole explanation that the reason for wildcards not counting towards TA is to “keep our squads fresh” or whatever is nonsense.
If the reasoning is something to do with multiplayer, which I can’t see but maybe there is one (other than just making more money, which is what everyone is saying and not the look you want), then at least change it (fix it) for offline play?
Sorry for the book but this drives me nuts.. for the people that really don’t like Seasons this is like a middle finger from SDS. -
No thank you
-
@Tylerslikewhoa_XBL If there’s a decent argument to be made in support of this, I have yet to hear anyone make one. “No thank you” like how does not wanting it even make any sense? Either you want it to count, or you shouldn’t even care because it literally doesn’t affect you lmao.. Like you don’t want Wildcards to actually count towards TA? Why??
-
Because that would defeat the whole thing called a grind, using season 1 cards that are 99 overalls for season 2 grind would make you go through the program too fast then you'll have people complaining that they have nothing to do
-
@sbchamps17_NSW What? People are misunderstanding me or something.. That makes no sense. I didn’t say we should be able to use all Season 1 cards… I said it’s stupid that the Season 1 cards we CAN use once we unlock the Wildcard slots, don’t even count towards Season 2 Team Affinity.
-
@sbchamps17_NSW And those Season 1 Wildcards should still count towards Program XP, just not Team Affinity. So I don’t get what you’re saying. If that were true then the Wildcards really would be 100% useless and SDS must have had a collective stroke while thinking this stuff up. And the Seasons layout is so obviously financially motivated by SDS, which is the worst part. Again I like the Seasons and I like the grind. Good idea, bad implementation.

@WhiskeyOne_MLBTS
I agree with you completely. Why make them a thing if we can't use them for TA? Doesn't make sense. Like for example the first Season 2 drop isn't able to be finished without a Season Award card/Season 2 Topps now...and the only applicable ones are in a pack. Make it make sense... -
SDS has their head up so far up their azz this year. I agree with you 100%. What is the point of using wildcards if they don’t count towards TA
-
Why? How does it hurt you?

The TA program is actually very easy to complete. I finished on Sunday and it didn’t even feel like a tedious grind.

This is correct. You do not need season awards cards to complete the drop, unless you are skipping moments. But if you do the moments and position stat missions, you will get the S2 Topps now cards needed to use to knock out the Topps now missions and that will get you exactly to 50.

It must have been an oversight or maybe they didn't think it through. One wild card early on is not going to make or break earning XP or TA. Hell, I can get the same results with a silver card if I'm playing conquest on veteran. It's the point that we can't use any of the cards we earned if we are grinding programs out. And it sucks to have Rollins or Adley just sitting there.
-
Yes, this was discussed weeks ago. As soon as I heard S1 cards in WC spot wouldn't count towards S2TA, I knew I'd never use a WC spot. Same reason why I didn't use CAPs back when they were still in game, and why I don't use Negro league cards much. It's great for H2H players looking to just win games, but I don't play H2H so my WCs spots will just remain unused.
-
@nflman2033_MLBTS at least CAPs had programs with progress and rewards.
-
A few things:
-
S2:C1 is pretty easy to complete (just been mindlessly grinding vs cpu...and almost done)
-
Wild cards should absolutely count towards season 2 stats. Last year, S1 cards counted towards S2 stats...this year we can't even get the wild card stats? Silly. If a card is ELIGIBLE for season 2 (ie: a WILD card) then it necessarily is season 2 ELIGIBLE...this seems simple to me.
-
Last thing: For those opposed to allowing wild card stats to count, provide a definition of a wild card. Actually...I'd like to hear someone from SDS answer that as well.
What's a wild card?

Do not try to argue / debate with SDS fans cause they will pull out every excuse to defend a SDS decision that you will not win and will only drive you crazy trying to do so.
-
@Akhenaten1313_PSN Last year they had a different structure and the seasons were shorter... Season 1 was Core and S1, Season 2 Core, S1 and S2, Season 3 Core, S2 and S3 and so on with the last season being Season 6 where all cards were eligible... this year we are getting Season 1, Season 2, Season 3 and Season 4 (at which point all cards should be eligible).

@WhiskeyOne_MLBTS Tyler is s SDS propaganda troll account. You can throw away anything he says with great confidence.

Wildcards have and will be useless for offline players until they count for the next season stats
