When season 2 starts can I still buy season 1 cards?

@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN upgraded reprint. Thank you. That's a term I'll use from now on. Just because they "upgrade" the card and then force out your old one doesn't mean it's not a reprint. You've been fooled into thinking you're working for something or that they are giving you something new. You're not the only one that's being fooled though. This is how they make money and stay profitable and unoriginal.
Why buy rights or be innovative when you can literally just make a slightly different version of the same card they already printed?
I am using Shota cause it's happened to him but it's not just him. Shota Hyper and Shota live have the same pitch mix. They have the same in game character and mechanics. They have the same character build and all when using them in the game. In fact, most times pitch speeds and ball movement on the pitch are the exact same. The ONLY thing that changes is the RNG reactions based on the stats they "updated". You got fooled. You think you have a different card but you don't. Why don't they just update the current card you already have? That would be silly cause then they could not profit or get more hours of gameplay from you grinding. Bottom line is money. Even if you don't spend the money to get the card they make a profit from you grinding time to get the same [censored] player. And you think you worked for it.Good Lord you're an idiot. If you own a 97 Toyota Camry and then decide to purchase a 2014 model, you didn't buy the exact same car. Its not a "reprint". Do you actually strive to be this stupid or does it come natural to you?

@littlejohn726_PSN idk why the assumption is that the cards will go up in price considering SDS will reprint every card with better overall stats. I don't remember their prices going up much last year and some special cards that they didn't reprint stayed around the same price for a while then at the end of the sets and seasons they fluctuate but again SDS just reprints higher ovr versions so those will hold the higher values. What should be nice is when they reprint the cards the older ones should be cheaper.
There are Season one golds going for over 20k stubs. The Flashback golds from standard packs, will be replaced with Season 2 Flashbacks, and prices will go up on those as well.
Also, in another thread, you mentioned your stub bank being at like 35k. I don’t think you’re an expert on the marketplace if that’s where you’re at 3 months in. Especially if you don’t have any collections done.
You just need to chime in and yell at someone about something you don’t understand.

Lol you just compared a car to a digital baseball card.
I'll play this game and I'm gonna run with it.
Cars come out every year and between year to year they don't change much if at all other than security features and technology upgrades.
You also compared a car with a 17 year difference as if that wouldn't be a MASSIVE difference in upgrade. You should have said 2014-2015 but that wouldn't prove your point cause it's not a big difference at all if ANY. Like I said cars, phones, and other technological devices don't make leaps and bounds of differences in one year. Just like a digital baseball card won't in on [censored] month.
You literally disproved yourself there.
MLB The show as a game is vastly different than what it was 17 years ago, yes. I would have said that makes sense. But no, the cards are 1 month apart with tiny differences that will go unnoticed.
I like how you really tried to compare cars with more than 15 years of technological advancements and act as if that's the same as a card drop from a month difference lmao. But again, you had to do that because a 2013 Camry and 2014 Camry are the same car hahaha nice try dude. -
“Well actually”

Wondering if you can buy Season 1 cards in marketplace once Season 2 starts. Mainly as I unlock Wildcards, will I be able to buy cheap season 1 cards any time during season 2? Or do they come off the market?
To cut through all the arguing here… As it was stated, supply and demand drives the market.
Sellable S1 cards that are rewards in S1 programs, especially from online programs, that are needed for current collections will go up in price. Core cards will fluctuate as usual because we will continue to see those cards in packs.
Once we hit S4 and cards are reissued, especially when we hit rewind packs, then the prices will decrease. Some will decrease a lot, some a little, some stay the same. It depends on the rate they hit the market.

@AdeptOfMemory_PSN You can't re-invent definitions that already exist and call people idiots for not going with you.
If a book goes out of print, they re-print it; easy.
BUT, if they add a foreword, new pictures, and an epilogue, it ain't a re-print, it's a new edition. If you say the sky is purple with green spots and I tell you no, it's blue, it doesn't make me an SDS "simp". You think people dump on you because you hate the game, they don't; it's because of stupid arguments like these.
-
You in particular: No. Everyone else will be able to.

Oh wait i get what this douche is saying. If i order a plain cheese pizza for dinner tonight and a pepperoni with extra cheese tomorrow night, i had the same exact dinner 2 days in a row because it came in the same packaging. If you had an iPhone 6 and then bought the iPhone 7, you just bought the same exact phone because its the same name. If you have Playstation Plus, theres no reason to buy Playstation Premium because its totally the same.
For someone who seems to think he is "adept of memory", you think some of the most nonsensical [censored] this forum has ever seen.

I don't care why it who dumps on me. It's a reprint.
What you just described is literally still a reprint. Calling it a new version because it got an update doesn't make it not a reprint of the same book.
If the entire book is rewritten with a different story it wouldn't be a reprint. It would be a different book. If I read the hobbit without pictures from the 1950s and then read a REPRINTED version with pictures in 2010 I am reading a REPRINTED version of the same book. Stop doing mental gymnastics to make it look like it's something different.Just because you added few extra things to the card doesn't just magically make it not the same. You completely disregarded my point about the player in game mechanics. They are same character model, same pitch mix, and very similar pitch stats. Sure they changed the attributes a bit but it's the same [censored] player and mechanics.
We aren't even talking about PxP either. It is unoriginal at BEST.
You work for the PxP on a card you like for however long during the season only to have them REPRINT the same player with different stats that arnt much different than your parallel exp you worked for on the previous version. Then when the season starts you won't get to use that original card or others, so every bit of the game you just got used to and better with is now undone and you have to regrind for that better version. If you touch grass regularly or have a life in the real world this is not practical for you as a gamer. You already know this and so does SDS. That's why the point about this game not being casual has been made a thousand times over. "yOu cAn uSe THe cARdS iN oThEr gAMe mOdEs!" No. They pigeon hold you to one game mode because they nuke the PxP and XP from other game modes so you can't play them with success. "oFFline moDeS, bRo!" Yes because it's super competitive and fun to play against a computer when you buy the game with intention to play against real life people.I call you SDS simps because you find nothing wrong with the sleezy methods SDS takes to get you to buy new cards or grind for them. You think it's a completely different card and that's it's going to make a difference in your gameplay but is it really? If you say yes then what you're saying is you need meta cards to be good at this game not that you need good combinations and skill on certain cards. That means there is no uniqueness or diversity in their cards or deck building. You won't admit that though ie simp. You find nothing wrong in what SDS does and continue to support them through all of the failures in this game.

If you have 6k stubs almost 3 months into the game cycle, and ZERO collections complete, you are the last person that should be chiming in.

It's because he keeps giving tithes to his Orange Lord. Which is also why he is too confused to understand how to earn stubs via the market.

@AdeptOfMemory_PSN If you think I've never criticized SDS in the past, it proves that you just don't read and interpret anything you want, however you want. This thread is exhibit A of your lack of reading and comprehension skills, as well of critical thinking.
Let me repeat: just because you say something illogical, get called out, double down and get called out again about WHAT YOU POSTED, doesn't mean I'm defending SDS, it means you can't have a rational discussion.
Someone will post something to the effect of "Hey, can I put a C with non-secondary in CF without affecting his defense" and you will hijack it with a SDS SUCKS reply. You move the goal posts. You derail topics. Get your head checked out.

Called out on what? Wt the hell are you even talking about? SDS sucks and I explain thoroughly why they suck. I have problems with someone like you who don't see anything wrong with how they print their cards and force you into their marketing tunnel. You fail to see that and that's my point. You're gonna have to elaborate on this 'call out'. I've read and understood plenty of what you've said. I'm saying it's wrong and you're foolish for thinking they are innovative and creating new cards when they aren't. It's all an illusion to make you think what you're doing is progress or not repetitive. There's no reason to put time or parallels into cards when they are just going to reset them and force you to not use them again or until the end of the games lifetime. Wild cards are a joke. Most people I doubt will even obtain all 4. And when MOST people do get those cards look at their time played, look at their stubs spent, and look at what they are doing to get them. It's not feasible to a casual player. This goes back to another argument that pops up here about no casuals left. SDS is not innovative. They are NOT printing new cards. And SDS is doing every thing they can to profit. They don't fix bugs. They don't address server issues and they don't offer alternative ranked modes because it wouldn't allow them to abuse marketplace manipulation and make more money.
What criticism have you even made? If it's not about quality of gameplay, bugs or glitches, freeze offs, or their ridiculous management of sets and seasons then yeah you're simping. You're totally fine with the horrendous state of the game and offer excuse after excuse on their behalf and you're getting hung up on MY criticism? Yeah you're a joke. You're attributing things to me that I never said, for one. Also, all UT sports games modes are like this: Rookie, vet, AS, HoF, Prime, Awards... different versions of a player. Nothing new under the sun, don't know why it's an issue NOW 10 years into it; nothing wrong with people enjoying a Rookie card on another team of their favorite player or a juiced up version of an LS card. You're plain weird here.
It's all an illusion to make you think what you're doing is progress or not repetitive. Again, who enters DD with the idea that they should keep cards in the next game...? Sports titles are annual and have a life cycle by nature. I don't like the idea of Seasons, as I've expressed before plenty (but yeah I suck SDS balls). I don't care about PXP, maybe you do, but good for you. Do like I did years ago: buy an edition, play franchise and/or RTTS on the same edition for 2-3 years, then buy a new one when the next gen is up or they made enough changes according to your needs.

**I've made plenty of remarks about gameplay and servers. Some are legit, some are questionable. The difference is I temper my irritation with them with: how much do they affect me? How much of those are because of the human element? How much is caused by every single card having the same meta (power) and everybody using it (again, human element)? How much is caused by bad servers, on a P2P connection? How much of that is caused by being forced to support old gens/Switch (your innovation complaint could partly go here)?
I've said many times that the COOP freeze offs suck, but I never play it, so why would I yell about that? I stated many times that the Switch outage on the onset of the game was shameful. OK, what next? You want to read something that will blow your mind? In June or July of 22, I felt burnt out; didn't like the state of the game, and stopped playing. Came here from time to time, to see how it was going, but that's it.
Then, in 23, I spoke with my wallet. Didn't like the direction, so I didn't buy it. Glad I didn't. To who did I cry? No one. Maybe there's a life lesson in it somewhere for you.**
