SDS’ Seasons Logic
-
Just for background. Was a top 50 player in both 20 and 21. Stopped playing in 22 because I thought the game was bad, and in 23 didn’t play because why does a career .246 hitter get a cover….?
Started playing again this year and have noticed there are seasons. What in the Activision/EA is this? Controlling what we can use AFTER we’ve put our money and time into it is crazy. In 20 and 21 that was the most fun I’ve had in my life playing a video game and the year long grind was awesome. Building up from 85/86-99’s was what made diamond dynasty.
Guess my question is- any hope they do away with this idiot logic for future games? Or any chance they remove it this year with all the complaints? I’d imagine there have been a ton of disgruntled customers this year. Why keep playing when you set me back to 89-93’s??? Off the NCAA I go and even before NCAA comes out!

If you really did not buy a game because of a cover athlete decision … I cannot take this post seriously
-
ZERO chance they course correct in 24…Best you can hope is they do away with them in future iterations.

@YOSHI24 no. I made the decision based off of how 22 played. A mediocre player just made the decision easier. Thanks for taking the time to reply even though you couldn’t take it seriously. Lol

Honestly I don’t see them going back to the free everything for everybody model of 20-22. I’ve been on this forum since 2019 and this community complains so much and about so much I don't see how we can honestly expect SDS to hear any of our specific complaints. Think about it in relation to what you do for a living, if you suddenly find a way to make more money for doing the same amount of work and receiving the same amount of complaints from your customers would you want to go back to giving everything away for free again? Yes it sucks having a limited amount of time to use cards but It not like anyone was using their hard earned April cards in June under the old model anyways. I’m curious to see how the recycled power creep is going to play out, I didn’t mind last year when you could use the current set and the set before each season but I think it’s going to suck now that it’s only current set that will be eligible. they are basically having us grind for months to get 99’s that are only eligible for days before the power creep resets completly as oppposed to last year when each card would have at least a full season of eligibility.

I do not typically play sports games unless you consider Rocket League or racing games sports games. I play alot of every other kind of game from Fortnite to Balders Gate.
I have said this many times, SDS does not feel like game development team. It feels like mobile app marketing teams.
I really wish they could have a team of experienced developers from games outside of sports. The Show has such an embarrassing story mode model and PvE development. They wouldn't need to worry about the PvP problems if they had an actual story gameplay and interface ie: First or third person world exploration, building up a home environment around the progress you make, etc They clearly have such a devout fan base for PvP even with its issues, they would only gain from taking a drastically different approach to their offline play.Edit: Jeter storyline is a joke. Easiest missions ever and blown through with no time. I usually complain I can't grind but it's NOT a grind to play and engaging storyline in any video game. Other games have grinds, yes, but you avoid that with in depth world building.
Gran Turismo is pretty sweet as they have a good PvP experience and your garage and vehicle customizations go just as far as the racing itself does. -
I personally didnt mind set collections in 23 I got pretty much all of the rewards for collections as offline player... not sure I will earn any this year might get to Leiter
