Timing\Directional Hitting DD or Online

I’ll welcome playing any player using timing or directional. There is a major disadvantage in using it. It’s completely unusable at HOF and Legend difficulties.
-
@virusts offline I use to have a realistic franchise going on where I try to play by the player stats. I was using timing and classic pitch. The only problem is I felt like its too easy. I play on legend. I just think you are giving the power to the AI\game to decide rather its going to give you a hit or not. It does the work for you.
Maybe its just me. Feels like im playing a softball game when playing online. Everybody hits bombs online. Pitching doesnt matter lol.. I probably go back to Franchise like I use to do every year. Im more of a sims guy. My main settings are zone and analog pitching

Nah, its cool. Those guys are at such a disadvantage it aint funny.

How can you determine what hitting mechanic your opponent is using?
-
It's the RNG. Yes switching to timing you may see results like this, but after awhile the dice will roll against you. If you really want to let the cpu have more control over your success go ahead. But there is a reason the top players use zone.
I am a mediocre hitter with Zone, but I'd rather hit .230 using that vs whatever the league average is using timing. My outs are my faults not bad luck of dice roll.

Timing might work better for low-to-mid players. It will absolutely not work better for good players. This takes RNG into account as well.
I'm not a scientist, but even I know that there's this concept called "sample size," and that it matters.

Tell you what, let’s play a game against each other on hof or legend, you use timing I’ll use zone and we’ll see who hits better lol

In my opinion someone “all of a sudden hitting bombs” does not constitute evidence that something nefarious is going on. I feel like this happens literally every single game; between the pitchers energy and confidence meters, and the potential your opponent has identified patterns in your pitch selection it’s far more likely that your opponent was capable of hitting bombs the whole time than they gained some type of advantage by using a less dynamic hitting interface

Hmm... as someone who uses Timing (with sticks, as it gives a bit more control over placement and is much more satisfying than pushing a button), I don't think that someone "getting base hits from balls [someone] was throwing in the dirt" sounds like Timing at all. The odds of even decent contact go down considerably on pitches out of the zone, even for those with Bad Ball Hitter perks. As many have said, it absolutely does put you at a disadvantage compared to a good Zone user, as Zone users have more control over generating their own odds by controlling placement.
I've just recently sniffed 700+ this year (and got kicked back to the 600s after a handful of games), but I've made it into the low 800s with Timing/Analog before; you can win games on HOF using that interface, but continued success at that level is very difficult. And you are most definitely not hitting bombs with regularity unless someone just flat out doesn't know how to pitch.

Thanks for the tip

As a timing hitter I have never once gotten a base hit off a ball in the dirt and I have a large sample size on that one.
I have, however, struck out on pitches over the middle of the plate with perfect swing timing

I, too, in close to 100 RS games this year and probably over 1,000 over the last several years, can't think of a single base hit I've gotten off a ball in the dirt. It just doesn't happen. And, man, those whiffs over the heart of the heart of the plate with good timing... that's baseball, though, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
