All right, the XP “problem”

I think is overblown:
-
I feel the purpose is to ramp up expectation/excitement towards the end of the season;

the 2nd purpose is for lineup balance (online mostly) so no players have all 3 and most have none;

There’s 4 WC slots; the bosses will be the top cards for the start of the Season 2 power creep;

They’re monitoring the progress closely and have stuff still to be released; we are either right on course or they’ll ramp it up (double XP weekends and the likes) if they feel too many are far behind at least the 1st boss.
I may be off base, but I’ve noticed through the years that they rarely address divisive issues until before the next game or while they’re still working on a fix or contemplating solutions.
I’m almost at Napoli, and I’m not worried (yet).

I'm almost at seager and I already could care less about the bosses. This long drawn out boring program has taken away so much motivation. Just the fact that you can hit the daily cap and not even get to the next reward is stupid.

Everyone points out the 4 WCs, but I wouldn't be shocked if those were buried mid track.
Even if they ramp everything up in the final month of the season the point will remain that it feels bad to most people. Also, there is little excitement around this xp track because the rewards are mediocre compared to how infrequently they come.
Its not a huge deal to me, but at the same time the shaft given to offline game modes is very blatant and can add to discontent.
They definitely made adjustments during the game last year and I suspect they will do so again at the start of season 2, but its not going to be the total reversion to past years people are wanting.

I'd almost guarantee that that they are spaced out in the program and you won't be using them all right away.

@Dolenz64 yeah. They will give you one relatively soon, but I would expect it to take around 800k xp to get all 4.
By then will the bosses even be top cards anymore?
My concern Is that they plan to start over by beginning season 2 releasing low 90 cards all over again.
I have enough cards to get Leiter, but locking them in seems like a horrible idea

I think removing the repeatable XP reward from Mini Seasons, was a mistake for sure. And I hope with the new Mini Season dropping tomorrow, we see a nod to offline players by bringing it back. If anything a fair compromise would be something like a 7K XP reward the first time, and 3500K each after. I mean, you have to play at least twenty, three inning games to do it which is a significant amount of time for anyone.

The lack of exp for the conquest maps is the most baffling one to me. I just don't understand why they would do that.

@Teak2112 because people who play offline don't spend money. They are trying to incentivise online play in hopes of more people spending money. Thus putting the vast majority of earnable xp in the online programs.

If I can just get to the 1st boss to get Jimmy Rollins then I'll be fine with that, I'm almost at Napoli so we'll see

There are plenty of offline only players that spend money. I used to be one of them. I used to buy stubs to buy the World Series and Flawless BR rewards, when they were cards I wanted but didn't have the stubs.

My biggest issue is I play a lot of vs cpu games and completed every season every year with many bonus spins. I probably won’t even hit the first boss pick this season.
The xp is not kind to players like me this year

I think I have already said part of this but after me being furious over the low XP cap I kind of see WHY but I am disappointed they have not raised it even just a little. I mean considering the XP for rewards for offline stuff is pretty much nothing after doing mini seasons , C-Maps Etc then it would have made more sense to raise it like every time a TA drops by like 2k.

Yup. I feel that. SDS put out a massive L in this regard if I’m being honest. I try to play a bit every night. I’m nowhere near a boss, haven’t even cracked 200k yet. I’m likely gonna finish somewhere around 350k. I would have been sniffing the final level last year, with a minimum of a couple bosses. 100% feels like it’s not even worth the effort anymore, with slashed xp, dogwater rewards(honestly, banners in a program is dumb AF)

To be honest I dont even think its the cap thats the problem
I dont play rookie or veteran offline, I play to my skill level (which sadly is all star)
However, that means Im not even hitting the cap most days
The stated intent was for xp to come through programs, but at 4k per program thats not remotely cutting it -

This year I'm not locking in anything (other than LS collection) that took stubs to acquire. Even with 3M stubs in the bank.
Past years I'd be locked in to get reward cards as fast as possible. Not this year

I’ve come around on it taking awhile to get to the bosses. My problem is that the reward path otherwise isn’t rewarding. Most of the other players are underwhelming by the time you get to them and the path is filled with trash icons and other useless things. If it takes days of grinding to get to the next reward, those rewards need to be rewarding. This game is stale already because progress is so slow.
