    @genopolanco MLB 21 was bad for sds in a money standpoint. I'm sorry but they gave a way to much that year. Also people abused the system, people would intentionally tank to earn rewards faster in ranked. On top of that ranked rewards were worse then free cards, packs were also meaningless, you pretty much grinded for the same thing everyone got, really made the game dull.

    • For record I am not praising the game *

    Seems like everyone keeps saying "well those years they cared more" I honestly can't agree with that, yeah content was cool, but there stale moments in all of those previous games, I remember at one point mlb 20 got so stale i played showdown on repeat to gain XP.

    The structure is so different now than back in ‘21 that you can’t compare those cards that easily. When the Buxton lightning was released, the only comparable cards were 90+ LS…maybe a few BR/RS rewards, but I still think they were low 90s at that point. The issue with Witt is there is absolutely nothing special compared to all the other available cards. Even if you had every card in the game in ‘21, there was a great chance Buxton was going in your lineup.

    I remember in ‘21 wanting to complete POTM as fast as I could because that card provided value. I have yet to find anything this year that is really motivation to play. All the cards are nothing special compared to anything else available in packs, market, TA, Rewars, etc.

    As a former Destiny 1/2 player, I never minded the power creep. Yes, it's basically the same ol' hamster wheel over and over again, but as long as you try out new builds and force yourself into appreciating the exploration of doing things slightly different the following go-rounds, it makes for an enjoyable experience to "build things back up." I like using "new" cards to build up an entirely new roster. It takes away a bit of the potential staticity of the game.

    Trust me, I get that that model isn't for everyone (and tearing stuff down only to rebuild it all over again can be a bit of a chore), but I definitely appreciate SDS's approach to making the game as viable as possible during a typical sports gaming cycle.

    Those years were arguably the best years of DD from a content perspective. The content structure now is significantly different and for a lot of people, significantly worse. Add on to how SDS has treated the community since then, people are frustrated with all of it. There were a lot of people who praised SDS during that time and now a lot of those same people are just bitter and burned out with DD.

    I am that person. I think it's the fate of modes like DD to creep irreversibly towards monetization, and in fairness to the devs you can only do so much with yearly reboots. But this year is a lazy, stale, stingy mess. I will not play another minute of the game this year, and probably won't buy MLBtS again unless I get a next gen console when this current gen is over. It was my last hope for sports gaming -- I have no hope for NCAA because it's EA -- which is why my ps5 is gone. Now I'll slowly try to kick my forum habit, lol...

    How about a better binder system? A refreshed UI? A place to display your favorite cards or accomplishments, like NCAA trophy rooms or 2K's crib back in the day? How about several more throwback unis for each team? How about a new twist to Mini-seasons on launch for vs. cpu players? How about several career storylines with players it owns the rights to, like Rickey Henderson?

    Baseball is literally overflowing with history. SDS gets away with doing almost NOTHING with it, year in and year out.

    Your attitude marks you as a dev-in-waiting at SDS -- it's a baseball game, what more could they want???

    @SuntLacrimae50

    1. Binder system is fine, it's improved ovr time

    2. P5'ing/ uprgading your cards display them online

    3, Banners/icons display what you have done or even what you like, idk what adding a virtual room to look a trophies you earned would do, it'd be cool like twice then you'd get over it.

    1. Throwback uniforms comes with a price tag/ rights or likeness I'd assume.

    2. Mini season's does get a twist when extreme comes out, even then what more do you want, the word mini is in the name, you want.

    3. Storylines would be cool, I just can't imagine with the game still supporting old gen they'd have the space for it, when they go to next gen only it should hundred percent be a thing, although they did something similar in mlb 18 with multiple player programs and missions (it was brutal)

    4. Calling me a dev becuase I see things different is crazy, although I'd love to be one, you really think devs have a say over the higher ups? Devs care about the community and the game, most of them do play the game, for them they are doing as instructed.

    Lol...mmmm, okay then!

    PxP's and banners are not trophy rooms or display areas for the user. The binder system is absolutely atrocious -- it still kicks you back to the top when you exit a card, FFS. And that's not even speaking of the aesthetics of it.

    You? A dev? Nah. Dev-in-waiting, like I wrote, and you'd fit right in.

    As John Lovitz said in SNL, "Lower your standards!"

    Peace, you are the exact gamer SDS counts on. 😉

    The monetization issues are almost certainly the fault of the publishers, and people lose sight of that
    The lack of next gen version is almost certainly MLB's fault for forcing SDS to develop on multiple platforms
    The lack of other upgrades is probably Sony's fault for not properly expanding the dev team

    Some of the other issues may or may not be the dev's fault, but people in general are directing their anger towards the wrong group. Even in the fairy tale world where everything is SDS fault, Sony and MLB are still the ones that have the ultimate control and where the change would come from.

    Being a dev must be one of the more frustrating jobs, unless you are able to work at a self published place like Larian that values vision over monetization. Or platform exclusive games, like The Show used to be, where brand goodwill holds more value.

    @chucky97___

    I’m just saying from an overall standpoint, the community was much more happy with SDS and their content during those times.

    I don’t care about SDS’s income. They aren’t putting that money back in the game so I could really care less. Hardly any new legends, practically the same game as last year. If these players/uniforms whatever aren’t in the game because they cost money then why aren’t they getting bought? It’s just straight up greed. They want your money for their yachts and not using any of it to make a better product. People are sick of it and that bleeds into every aspect of the game, including hating every piece of content even certain cards are comparable to other years.

    Everyone wants max stats 1-9 . That's not how real baseball works . You need som guys with on base, some with speed, some with power , a good bench , clutch , lefty righty match ups etc.

    @chucky97___ I guess 23 was bad in more ways people think … Lots of people do not remember the power creep from past years, where the Big Boys did come at the end of the regular season. I like this year very much. You see so much different lineups and you do not have the very big boy to compete.
    Sure, the pack-thing is a real thing, but if you do not care about it .. it is not that problematic. Sure, they could put in more „real legends“, but maybe we will see some at the end of S1 (so earlier than before)
    The best thing so far to me is that lots of people are still using live series players … that is awesome.
