    @myrrder said in Ranked:

    Ranked means skill. You have to have skill to rank up. You should NOT be able to use timing or directional to hit. It should not even be an option. It should be zone and zone only. Because zone actually takes skill. If you face someone using timing or directional it doesn’t matter how good you are. They’ll get amazing contact on every single pitch. No matter where it’s at. And you can EASILY tell they’re not using zone. I think it’s a real issue and takes away the skill portion of the game. It’s called ranked for a reason. Fix it

    What if you can't, due to a disability, use Zone? Does that mean I can't play Ranked? (I don't, but still)

    You can't exclude people from a game mode because you 'THINK' they're using a different hitting
    mode than what you want them to use. That's discrimination.

    @x814xmafia so being disabled means you can flick the right stick but not the left stick? That doesn’t make any sense. People use it because they don’t want to put in the time to be good and ruins the game for everyone else. Ranked means skill. It should be zone only. Period.

    And how do you know your opponent is not using zone hitting.
    And also, yes there are people with disabilities who play this game, some of which with one hand. And yes they use timing hitting, and yes they should be allowed to play any head to head online, and yes if you lose to them, that's on your "skill" not theirs.

    Which really brings me to my problem with your whole argument. You should be mad at yourself for losing to someone with less "skill" than you claim to have. Not mad at them for playing how they want to play.

    Sorry you lost a game.

    @myrrder
    I am impressed with anyone that has success online hitting with Timing or Directional. Zone is far superior and much more forgiving.

    Should we disallow control freeks and use of monitor too? Those actually make the game easier.

    Timing/directional does not

    @myrrder it’s just not fun to play anymore. Everyone wants to win as easily as possible. Every person me and my friends play use timing and directional and we can tell within 2 batters

    I am actually curious how you can tell this?

    Because it looks like they have a perfectly timed swing on a ball over the plate and whiff? Most of their averages are under .300? those would be where to start looking I guess

    No. Being disabled means that due to a stroke I can't use my right hand. So I have to use my left hand to work the joystick AND hit the buttons to swing the bat.

    It's impossible for me to be able to move the joystick (pci) and hit one of the buttons to swing the bat without jerking the PCI.

    Believe me when I say that I'd rather be able to use Zone. But since it's physically impossible for me to use that setting; I have to compromise and use Directional.

    Even if they were using a different input,which is impossible to know unless you are looking at the same screen they are, it doesn't change anything about the game, you need to get outs and prevent runs while pitching and hit and score runs while batting.hel, they could be using their toes or their cat could be playing with the controller still need to outscore the opponent.

    Someone else said the same thing about timing and also got blasted so just get over your 1 lose and stop complaining about people using timing or directional. People use what works best for them

    If you are losing to a person using directional or timing only. You did not deserve to win the game. Those settings are terrible.

    You're a weird dude. You know it's a video game and not that serious right? You ain't making a living from this. If you really had the higher skill then you wouldn't worry about directional or timing users.

    I think your tinfoil hat fits a little too snug

    I don't think you understand how hard timing is, you gotta get very close to perfect perfect in timing or your gonna ground out or pop out or even wiff even on good timing, I just started using directional today and it is so much easier than timing and much more forgiving on your timing.

    How hard is directional to use? I've been looking to change from the timing

    It's as hard as it is to breath. Meaning, not hard at all.

    Whenever the ball comes, push A (Xbox)/X (PS5). I’ve always used directional, and you literally just time the button press to when the ball comes across the plate.

    But fair warning………there are times your timing will be “good” and you’ll still whiff.
