I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt

We don’t like packs as the main weekly content. I think everyone can agree on that. I will be somewhat ok with their current strategy, IF, during season 2, the packs that came out in season 1 are easily and frequently able to be earned in season 2. Give the pay to win players an early advantage each season, yet don’t gatekeep the collections behind a paywall. I’m ok with earning the cards the next season and using the ones I want to try in the wildcard spot.

Why do they deserve it at this point? It’s been several weeks and they haven’t pivoted one bit.

They probably can't easily pivot their entire content strategy on a dime.
How quickly can your company change their entire planned tactics to something else? Resources are resources. My hunch is that they loosen things up in S2 but I'm not expecting them to abandon what has been planned out months in advance. At least for S2 they will have had 6 weeks to adjust course from what has transpired in S1. If S2 is the same then bring out the pitch forks.
I swear people on this forum think these gaming companies should/can operate different from the companies they work for themselves. If you work for a small mom and pop shop then agility is a strength but that's not true of larger businesses.

I don’t believe for 1 second they can’t easily adjust xp.
I don’t believe for 1 second they can’t easily add some of these packs in whichever planned programs they have, or even create a new program to appease everyone complaining about how all the new content is in packs.
I will give them more leeway on the gameplay issues. I understand that those are more difficult to fix.
It’s not unreasonable to expect them to pivot on their content model. They’ve done it in the past, and there’s more backlash this year than I’ve ever seen on this game, and for good reason. It’s the worst DD since DD started.

I don't see them pivoting much at all during season 1.
They may throw in a few more Double XP weekends or may up the experience in programs but that is really all I expect this season.
You don't spend a bunch of time planning out the content for the year only to drop it at the first sign of discontent. My guess is that they are committed to seeing how Season 1 plays out.
I have said it since the start of this year I am willing to see how season one plays out before I pass final judgement.

If you mean chapter 2 which starts tomorrow,I'm with you. but it needs to get much better cause I'm already not playing.
But if you mean season 2, thats way too long to see improvements ,that doesn't come until June. -
@Dolenz64 Season 2 will be dead on arrival if they wait that long to pivot. It’s not just a little discontent. It’s community outrage.

@aaronjw76 Adding one of the specialty packs to programs isn't exactly a seismic shift. Just remove one of the icons/banners/stadium sounds from the reward path and replace it with a pack.
Of course you actually need to put out programs for this to happen, but still.
