Been playing DD since 14. The changes this year have made me think that maybe it’s time to stop playing this mode and go play franchise. SDS is ruining this game by being so stingy with XP and making all the cards you would want to use in packs. All while not including any of these packs in programs. With these changes I’m positive that the monthly award packs will be returning and make it so you can’t complete the lightning card without buying packs or buying these players off the market.

They’re making this game pay to win but in reality it will be pay to lose for them. As they will lose a ton of players. Last year was already bad enough for them but this year is taking it to a whole new level.

Sure you don’t care and I’m just complaining but that’s what these forums are for. To express our concerns so other players can voice their concerns in hopes that maybe devs will hear them. Overall I love the game this year. I love the gameplay but I don’t love the content.

As upset as I am this is NOT pay to win more like pay to experience the game fully or something like that but not pay to win. As upset as I am I have calmed down so now I want one and only ONE thing from SDS and that is this.

--- Why did you make this change outside of the obvious reason of to take money / stubs out of the players pockets ?

Will someone from SDS please make a post and explain it because it makes no sense and your hurting your player base. I know it's not something you normally do but if you want to calm the players down it would be a smart move to do this.

DD isn't dying. I have no problems finding games. However, the direction of their new business model approach is unacceptable and scummy.

There is a 95% chance the answer is publisher demands, either directly or indierctly
Have to do a yearly release
Have to release it on multiple platforms
I dont think Sony or MLB is forcing increased mt on them, but given the state of the game (bugs, lack of updates) it seems like they are hurting

And they wont be able to say that

They should instead be looking at ways to make money that:
    -People will WANT to do
-People wont feel COMPELLED to do

This might be unpopular as it was previously free content, but I would happily pay 2.99 to use Shea Stadium in 2025 version if it meant they scaled back on the pack stuff to older levels. I'm not compelled to this because I can still use Citi or any of the created stadiums, but I would want to do it. Most good service models rely heavily on cosmetics.

Another option is a monthly sub for a low amount that gives free packs each day

As much as I am annoyed at the content this year, I really do enjoy the things like inside edge, super charged players, and how they react to the actual season. Thats a service, and I dont mind paying more than the person who plays Franchise or RTTS only. But I don't like the idea of buying players.

@Atomic_Duckii yes! Dump DD and play franchise 🙂 The game needs more people like you.

(Franchise mode for the win, it needs attention)

I don't think so. Not for me at least. I don't see how its pay to win when there are so many free cards available. These last two years are actually the first times I haven't spent any real money because it hasn't seemed necessary.

DD is not “pay to win”…It’s “pay to have the best cards”…Yes, There is a big difference…Pay to win is just that - The inability to win without paying real world money to upgrade. An example would be when Battlefront 2 released. People that paid for loot crates could upgrade their characters instantly and there was no way nms people could earn near the same upgrades and they were totally outgunned…THAT is pay to win…What SDS is doing is making it “pay for the very best cards”. If you want let’s say the 99 Mays and it ends up that you don’t earn enough cards to get him and you don’t have or want to spend money then you won’t have him. But guess what? If you’re a good player you’ll hit more homers with a 90 ovr Griffey than a bad player will hit with Mays…Skill overcomes cards in this game. Don’t get me wrong - I’m not saying they don’t help lol. But you don’t NEED the best cards to make WS. And it’s pretty easy still to put together a very good & usable team.

I decided to put a feedback ticket or whatever you want to call it cause while I like venting and such on the forums it's become clear to me that unless someone is totally out of line they prolly will not even read it.

I basically told them they need to make some changes to help the offline grind a little -- I pretty much put most of my idea's you have seen me talk about over the past 24 to 48 hours or so. I really am not sure it will do any good but I urge others to do the same cause maybe if enough people give constructive feedback and not just rip into them maybe they will make changes in the near future.

Been playing since 16 and it's just how much they've been cutting us off at the knees with making stubs...diamonds use to net 5K, use to be great when you hit on an investment. Same with gold being 1k. The silver exchange was awesome as well, Diamond equipment use to be great to flip, they fixed that too, lol. Packs through programs like Affinity are now non existent...non sellable rewards......like what is that really....it really is pull out your wallet....or don't play

Man yall must not play any other sports game. WE ARE spoiled.
Look at 2k now. Every week they come out with a new 100 overall card. You cannot buy this card at all. You have to buy 6-7 other useless cards to collect with a “chance of pulling” this card. Now that is pay to win(and just out right criminal)

Definitely not dying as long as the only issue DD streamers with a opening day game gift basket to keep them playing and quiet

Definitely not dying if everyone on this forum played DD yesterday, or today, or right now. Did you? I did.

Thank you. As an offline grinder myself, I am not happy with DD this year. I know I am not the target audience, so I don't expect things to be how I like them, I hope maybe we can see programs resemble at least a bit more like they used to.

I am a card collector and have loved how you could still get most evey card in the game just by playing the game on years past, now you have to buy them or buy packs. Great strategy for lining SDS pockets. But not good for someone like me who refuses to put any money into the game after initial purchase.

This is 100% true, DD has been light years ahead of EA and 2K for UT mode, until now. Now they are just slightly better.

Hard truth: Nothing is actually behind a paywall. If you look at Madden, most packs can ONLY be purchased with Points (real money), everything in The Show marketplace is stubs, which can be earned through the game..

BUT, that's where they're getting us. Capping XP, limited content, nothing of substance within the small programs we've been given. This is a copy/paste game from last year. Everyone knows that. They had plenty of time to give us more and actually think of creative ways to make the game competitive, fun, and, while understandably still a business, make money.

You can absolutely make a nice team and be competitive with what they give you, but its taking the fun out of it.

What baffles me is the constant effort the community is giving to communicate these issues and SDS not even recognizing it or making any sort of effort to right the ship. All they did was give an explanation of the XP Cap and basically admit they don't know how to make a season based, reward based gaming structure work.

Making just about every reward card nonsellable isn’t helping any argument for anything they are doing to slow progression. If they are nonsellable, it shouldn’t matter how fast we progress. It’s not just about slowing the power creep. By the time we get the bosses, it will nearly be time for the new season, and by then there will be quite a few comparably powered cards available in packs. It will also limit how many times we get a chance to spin the wheel for random rewards after getting all 3 bosses.

@Atomic_Duckii I mean, last year I had a 99 overall team on DD, but I didn't even play DD. I just would grind RTTS and franchise.

I feel the same way. I believe it is. I believe there is so much to do with this mode & yet there is no creativity what so ever.
I've been playing DD for a long time as well. The last 2 years (22,23) were absolutely abysmal. This year is starting off in the same trend. Game play feels as good as ever. But the content drops & the amount of time in between those drops is unbelievable.
Its the 1st week in April, im caught up with content, the only thing they are dropping for 10 days is STORYLINES!? Truly hard to understand.
If they stick with this same forum of content, it will sadly be my last year on this game.
