I wasn't going to get the game this year, but they suckered me in because I'm a Mariners fan and I wanted to be able to play in the Kingdome.
I'm not bothered by the CPU pitching on veteran because it's making me a more patient hitter. I was doing better in BR because of it. I also think the TA format is much better, and I feel like I'm actually using cards instead of just griding out their PXP.
That said, there are way more negatives, as everyone has mentioned. The two-way glitch being present is inexcusable after they fixed it last year. It makes playing online no fun.
The final straw for me is locking cards behind billboards. Every other company who uses codes plasters them all over their social media and in the game, but not SDS. I can decide if I want to grind for or buy every card in the game, except for those 3. That's ridiculous to me. Whoever thought of that needs to be fired. There's no rhyme or reason to it, and SDS has been silent on it except for asking people if they scanned the QR code. I know it's not a huge deal right now, but it's a horrible practice to start and it makes me wonder what else they'll do like this later in the year.
I've played the Show every year it has been out. Maybe I'll play some franchise this year, but I'm finally out on DD. Their unresponsiveness, laziness, and ethics have soured me on the game. This is how you alienate long time players and drive them away. Well done, SDS.

@go4stros25 you hit the nail on the head. I was going to write the same thing as you. This year game is a mess and I play this game year around. My girlfriend ask me how is the game this year and my response was ah just other dam game.

Multiple pitchers are broken.
Daily xp is absurdly low, like 12 conquest games low.
There's a 72 overall knuckleball pitcher that is ruining most coop games.
Content seems slow. Still early tho.
The cpu is easier on allstar because cpu on rookie wont throw strikes. When there is a strike its a random pitch in a random spot on the edge of the zone.
There was already a rtts exploit that tanked the market.
Online play feels terrible. It's nothing to have 20-19 game because hitting is easy and pitching is a joke.
Switch players have it the worst apparently. They are saying the can't even play online.
All this and sds is seemingly refusing to even acknowledge most of these problems leaving us all to wonder if this is just how its going to be.
I play this game every year. If there was ever a year to skip, this is it.
Also people are upset because sds hasn't fixed many of the gamplay problems, but the one glitch that allowed people to get and sell rtts equipment was fixed immediately.
Don't forget releasing cards that you can only get if you live near a billboard.

Honestly this is by far the worst thing for me, most of the other stuff is bugs that will be sorted out and I couldn't care less if I get capped on xp (which for all we know may also be a bug) because its only one of a plethora of ways to advance my account.
I'm also holding off final judgment until we know if they wont be released elsewhere later in the year.
I may feel differently if the bugs arent squashed by May however.

How do you have xp cap? your basically telling me to stop playing the game. if i want to waste a weekend day playing alot I cant. Where is the common sense there? The amount of balls the cpu throws is crazy. i did a moment where i need 1 hit and got walked 4 times. This franchise has got lazy.

@Pergo I get what your saying and I cant say your wrong. I go a few days without playing and cant get back that opportunity to gain that xp back. People were exploiting XP years ago and rather than fix the exploit, they penalized the people who earned it legit. Thats my grip. The easy fix for them is to hurt the people that grind the game.

@DEF266 There are still plenty of reasons to play after you hit the XP cap. Other program progress, RS program, BR program, TA programs, Event wins, Conquests. Tons of things to still progress in even after the gameplay XP cap.
Yeaaaaaa but, leaves a sour taste in your mouth not receiving gameplay XP or XP towards S1 program regardless that makes ya say F'it .

I don't think we know if this is actually true or not yet.
We don't know what the capping mechanic actually is, it seems to impact people differently.The speculation is that its a daily cap but its possible its a cumulative cap, some hybrid, or even some bug triggering capping when it shouldn't.
Theoretically a bored Playstation user can test, create a new account and see if they can trigger the cap

It’s just over exaggerations to the maximum level. Guys who are clueless you can see game histories claiming they were walked 7 straight times. 7 straight balls maybe, and even that’s a stretch. But I got 1,000,000 stubs for anyone that shows me SEVEN STRAIGHT WALKS against the CPU on rookie.

You're on. Maybe I'll test this tonight. I don't think seven will happen, but four maybe.
And a better bet -- no more than 1-3 middle-middle fastballs the entire game.
Look up what the strategy guide says about rookie hitting difficulty in-game.

It's outrageous, what about the people who play in other countries? Locking cards behind a paywall is one thing but saying no you can't get that card because you don't live in that city is unthinkable in my opinion.

Well they just posted this on X. I hope this is a fix to a lot of things, the Switch issue first among them.

Its not even other countries (although thats me), what about fans that live outside of cities?
But as I said before I'll wait a month and see if they dont find a way to get us these cards in other ways.
Some things need immediate attention (switch, late release bug, 2 way bug, pinpoint bug) others (like the exp cap and this issue) can take a wait and see approach and evaluate once we know the full picture. -
