MLB 24: 3/19/24 - Nintendo Switch

If you think you’re going to be compensated you’re going to be extremely disappointed. Last year switch was down for at least a week and we got nothing.
-
@Victor_SDS 4 days have been gone since then and no updates yet
-
I have now reached out to larger gaming publications and asked if they would cover this absolute [censored] show.
-
Thank you for doing this... unfortunately I am not familiar with a lot of the media outlets that would cover this kinda stuff. One question I have been wondering is...was Nintendo Switch working at all during early release? Did they release the game knowing it was unplayable in DD for Switch? I would not be surprised. Just sad and pathetic.

@Knighter went on the IGN website that you had mentioned but could not find a way to contact them. Have you and how did you do so? Thanks.

It really seems that the SDS team just left for the weekend and oh well with this issue. There seems to be basically no customer service for a game based largely on engagement with the player community. There only seem to be 4 devs of all SDS employees listed who are actually involved here anymore, at least only 4 of the 30 have posted anything in the last day or so.
I get that this game may not mean everything to people at SDS, but the business look here is an extremely bad. This is THE PRODUCT that SDS is known for. This launch is the week its players wait for alll year. And it seems that SDS essentially said “oh the Switch doesn’t work, oh well we”ll try to figure that out later”. There’s no dev replies on the subject. There’s no help or bug ticket replies other than automated “we likely won’t contact you” ones for several days at this point. No one isn’t aware of this issue.
As a Switch customer this says a few things to me. 1. The switch platform is clearly less of a priority than even previously thought by most MLBTheShow players. 2. There are clearly no streamers that are valued by SDS that are on the Switch (this is an arena I wanted to jump into but life hasn’t quite allowed that, this makes me realize it’s probably not worth the time). 3. Fixes are not seen as an urgent issue for Switch players. Even when fixes happen like a two week outage last year they still wait till an overnight update and don’t acknowledge there was an issue.
At this point the only thing I can see to do is make this issue known on social media channels so all players are aware as well. Customers who use a switch should also definitely not purchase this game at this time if they haven’t already. It seems that the SDS social media post slowed yesterday with just one all day for the game. I think all Switch Users should be posting on X, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, etc if any official accounts are advertising this game. Currently this is not a fully operational product that is being advertised as a complete and functional game which is categorically false as of now. I hope that changes soon but it does not appear that anything is being done to rectify it. If it were most customers would assume SDS would want us to know that.

Can you fix this, currently in a freeze off before game even started with a switch user and this dude won't leave, Why do these guys try to play online if they can't
-
@SilverQ73 I hope they fix it bro

Most switch users can’t even get to a game right now so that might be the issue. We can’t get past the initial tutorial in DD.
-
The game should be removed from the Switch store until its fixed
-
@Victor_SDS theres no way it can take this long. "will update when we can" just shows you simply dont care. we spent money on this product. for gods sake take it off the switch store so people can stop getting scammed by your terrible, malfunctioning, disgusting software. do better.

Easy solution for next time: Turn off Cross Play
-
I can't get any portion of my Diamond Dynasty to play. Once I try to start a moment the entire game crashes.
-
@Victor_SDS 5 days and no word? You were on 2 hours ago at this point in time and can't update an entire platform on the status on being able to use their paid for product.
I guess no big streamers play on switch so we're not important. -
Kept kicking me from online games so I reinstalled the software. Now I can’t play at all. 5 days and nothing. 100 bucks down the drain.

I’ve had the same DD crash issue as everyone else, but today I realized it’s linked to the custom uniforms/team. It only crashes when you go to play the first scenario on the intro to DD.
So today, I’ve been fiddling with Franchise mode. For kicks, I created all custom women players and had them all on The Pirates. I took them through the season and it gave me the option to rebrand. I did and made them The Rockford Peaches (for obvious reasons). When I went to play the first game, it crashed same as with the DD. I retried a few times with the same result in the same situation. I’m pretty sure it’s an issue with playing as a custom uniform/team.

So I got an emailed response tonight which read in full.
“ Hi,
Thanks for reaching out, our team is aware of the issue and working to resolve it.
We appreciate your patience.”
Now this came as a result of a feedback response I submitted through the app just today. So I will no longer say it has been more than 5 days without an acknowledgment or update but it has still been more than 5 days with no kind of update.
I sincerely hope that at the point of a fix, it is pushed out immediately. The last announcement I want to see is “a server update will occur at 3am” if it’s the start or middle of a day. There also needs to be compensation for Switch players at this point. This is a game built on limited time content (and it doesn’t need to be). Because of also including XP caps this year this all but ensures we will be behind for the entire duration of the life of this game.

@Victor_SDS it's not can crash...it's does crash can't even do the tutorial. Would love to actually play the game that I pre ordered. It's a crime when you take people's money and don't deliver what they paid for.

How will you be behind the entire duration of the game? As long as its fixed before Season 2 starts; you'll only be behind what was available Season 1.
And since those cards won't be usable in Season 2; you won't need them.
Plus, I wouldn't put it past them that if Switch owners do miss out on Season 1 cards; they'll put them (the ones from the XP path) in your binder.
