Here's some tips. Use some hitters with the bad ball hitting quirk. You'll be surprised at how well they hit.

Take the first couple pitches unless they're meatballs down the middle.

Take your walks. More men on base = more run opportunities.

Stop playing on rookie. It's by far the worse.
    Play on veteran or allstar.
If veteran is too difficult, go practice on allstar for 15 minutes, then go play games on veteran. I guarantee you will see the ball better and will get better results.

@Shauwn "Stop Playing on Rookie" this narrative you and others are trying to push is ridiculous, SDS has used the saying "Play your way" and that way for a percentage of the community is playing on Rookie weather that be for a casual experience or for any other reason that's how they're comfortable playing the game, not everyone has the ability, skill or time to play on higher levels.

@Shauwn the bad ball quirk is smart! I hadn’t thought of that. I will try this out later.

I wish that would happen when I play but the CPU on rookie throws me ZERO balls but then again I haven't been able to play much because I play on Nintendo switch so it crashes ALOT

It even does on veteran, not just on rookie. And it makes the conquest and moments a pain in the [censored]. I don't need anyone's permission to play on rookie and veteran.

Well it has made more disciplined at the plate. I had a pitcher throw a Perfect Release fastball that almost hit me lol.

    @halfbutt true that.

Early on in last year’s game the RTTS pitching attributes not increasing/ resetting was being looked into.

That bug has carried over into The Show 24. A lot of very frustrated and angry RTTS players right now.

@Shauwn just for the fun of it I went to Franchise and started a game on Veteran and never swung for the first inning the cpu walked 5 of my batters and 6 more in inning 2 after that I just quit that game out not sure how much worse it is on Rookie but playing on Veteran doesn't show good results like you say

Hmm. I think I’ll go practice on all star for a few minutes so I can beat the cpu on veteran. LOL,

Why any one WOULDNT play this PXP card collection lifesuck on rookie is beyond me. You get the same PXP as on All Star, HOF, or Legend. Why not bang out 50 hits, 40 runs, and strike out 23 rather than settling for less on the higher difficulties? The only way to increase PXP payoff is by suffering through the toxic dashboarding scripted hell of Ranked. I strongly suspect that the whole point of making rookie intolerable is an attempt to encourage players to migrate away from computer play toward their h2h cesspool. Fcuk that. I’d sooner put in my own catheter.

I played against Strider and the Braves for my test. He tends to have a bit better control.

Btw, it's not insanely better, but the cpu should throw more strikes than on rookie.

I played against Jacob Degrom and 11 walks in 2 innings and when looked at the analysis it was 38% strike rate on Veteran

I think its very realistic. is it the cpu's fault some players swing at everything and don't lay off balls?

Average MLB pitchers throw 62% strikes, and better pitchers throw strikes 65% of the time so looks like they put in in backwards by only doing 38% strikes on the game

It's broken. I just won a Conquest game, on AS, because of this.

Going into the bottom of the top of the 3rd inning down 4-2 against Milwaukee.

First pitch, from Devin Williams, hit my batter. Next four pitches were balls. Next batter was hit by a pitch. That loaded the bases.

My next batter was walked. No clue why, but the cpu left Williams in and he walked the batter.

So now it's 4-4, bases loaded with no outs, and I haven't even swung at a pitch.

Cpu still doesnt pull him a
and the very next pitch I crank a 4 run grand slam to go up 8-4.

I just buoyed out with the next three batters and pitched a 1-2-3 inning to win the game.

Not complaining about a free win. Complaining that EVERY batter that was walked, or hit by a pitch, was a TA Boss and I was working on their mission requirements.

And when the cpu isn't throwing trash, they are painting edges and tunneling pitches regardless of ratings. Same can't be said of user pitchers. CPU hitting feels OP compared to USER hitters too. It's just not a fun or enjoyable experience and has me contemplating moving on from DD.

I’m routinely winning conquest games 7-0 or better on all-star.

Maybe the answer is… stop playing on rookie? Maybe it’s the older age and eyes, but I don’t understand how people can switch between rookie and online play. I feel like I need to keep the cpu on allstar or hof in order to not readjust

I played against DeGrom yesterday and he threw 11 straight pitches that were balls. He has 87 control .....
