40-70 Acuna question

It absolutely is. Try subbing him in for the AS version so you can compare the stats between the 2. The AS is equal or higher on all but 2 stats I think. I guess some folks just assume if a card is released later in the game means it is better.
Go compare AR from the O's and Jram from the Guardians. Their AS cards are better than the Finest that just came out. Matt Olson and Sean Murphy too.
I've used both, I have better hitting stats with the milestone than all-star.
Anecdotal evidence is much different than just looking at the ratings. Based on ratings as I stated earlier the AS Acuna is the better card.
Also, who knows what circumstances, opponents, game modes you've used each card in not to mention your skill level has likely increased over the season. When it comes down to it all that matters is if you enjoy using the card.

It also depends on which attributes you prefer. You can have a card with better hitting attributes, than the same player with a different card, but the latter may have better Vision.

The AS Acuna is better so if you have that I'd definitely entertain selling if you need the stubs.
I don't think it is better, but it's not a whole lot worse.

MS Acuna is better than AS Acuna what are you talking about?
MS Acuna is 125/123 contact with 115/115 power vs left and right
AS Acuna is 125/125 contact and 102/115 power
MS Acuna also has higher vision 116 compared to AS Acuna’s 111 vision.
Their speed and fielding is pretty identical
Milestone Acuna has better hitting attributes which makes him better since everything else is pretty much equal

He has probably AS card parallel 5 and milestone card parallel 0 (but even then I would not say with so much confidence that AS card is better). This is so confusing because everyone can see that literally every single stat except for contact vs left 123/125 is same or better (by quite some margin) on milestone card. Even reactions 87/82 or speed 95/90. He is correct about the other cards J-Ram, Adley etc. but definitely wrong with Acuna. Or he is sneaky and he is trying to lower the price of milestone Acuna
-
The main difference is how the pitcher is pitching you when you have those different attributes. I haven’t adjusted yet while the other guy has adjusted. I’m sure given more than ~50 at bats I’ll adjust fine. I don’t have the at bats with the new card that I have with the set 3 card.
-
So I dug a little deeper and found out the misunderstanding/mistake on my part.
I am very well aware of paralleling cards but did not know that in the comparison charts for cards it actually lists the new attribute levels for whatever P-level you have the card at. I assumed it just gave you the in game boost.
I have a Braves theme team so as soon as I got the MS Acuna I went to compare him to the AS version. I have AS version at P4. That version compared to the base version of the MS is better.
Contact R is =
Contact L is +2 for AS
Power R is +1 for AS
Power L is +10 for AS
Vision is +1 for MS
Speed is +1 for MS
Stealing is =
Arm Strength is =
Arm Accuracy is +3 for AS
Fielding is +2 for AS
Reaction is +1 for MS
Blocking is +4 for ASNot trying to confuse anyone or manipulate the market as some have suggested in this thread. IN my defense I've been going through chemotherapy the past few months so my cognition isn't the best right now. In the end, what matters is using the cards that you want to use. I'm just a little disappointed that recent cards are equal or sometimes worse than versions released earlier this year. In the end though it really doesn't matter as there are much more important things in life.
-
I'm usually not a huge Acuna fan in MLBTS, but I used his MS card a lot in the current event. Love it. Like a lot of you, I struggle on inside fastballs, but had no issues with this card.
-
I’m still 215000 points away from getting the card lol I just lope I can get it before the dadjim time runs out
-
@NCStateHokie The All-Star Acuna card is better that than the 70/40 card in 1 area. Its +2 in contact vs lefties. All-Star card has decreased stats in 7 other catagories.
Do you have the All-Star card boosted and comparing it to non-boosted 40/70?

I hope you can get to him before time runs out. They’ll have double XP near the end of the season.

Chances are they'll put him out again in the last XP path.

vs CPU on double XP while you're doing the next program. I hate to do it, but I'll use a high elevation park and hit 20+ HRs. 15K per game.

Thank you all so much for the encouragement I’ve been wanting this card since I first saw it. I looked and I don’t have the AS one either and I’d just hate to miss the chance to play ball with Acuña. Now I’ve got me some hope and I appreciate that tremendously.
I wonder though if I’m doing something wrong when it comes to these vs cpu games. Like you I get the the 20 homers , 30 runs etc but instead of the several thousand xp I used to get, it seems like I'm only getting a fraction of that. Is it because most of my team is free agents or does that only matter when grinding for TA? I feel like I should know this by now but I simply don't lol
Again I thank y’all!
PS @broken_toy1_PSN I’ve enjoyed reading your excellent posts of late and have missed them. I’ve missed a lot of people on here lately but I totally understand why everyone is gone esp with the forum being so dead. Just wanted to put that out there

@BxnnyMxn_
FA cards or even which sets of cards (Set1, 2, etc..) you're using shouldn't affect your XP gain...You're correct though, they only influence the PXP gain for TA Missions
You haven't touched the Sliders in your Settings have you? I think if you change those sliders it'll penalize your XP Gain.

No ive never touched the sliders heck it took me six months before I figured out people weren’t talking about little tasty hamburgers. You know Gixxy it could just be me thinking I’m not getting the credit for them. Did it not used to say how many you got immediately following the game? I’d almost swear that it did but now I get no such thing. My last game I totaled up the cumulative pxp gains by adding all the numbers it showed on that third screen and it was like four thousand points but when I looked at the XP total that I had written down before the game it appeared as if I only got like three hundred. I just don’t seem to understand what the differences are. There’s a good chance that I’m simply overlooking something but it sure is taking me a loooong time to get any progress and I really want that dang card lol
ps @GixxerRyder750 thank you for the help partner. You’re another of my favs around here

PXP is the experience for each individual card - You can see your cards totals for each game by hitting the R1 twice in the post game menu. XP is just your overall experienced gained for playing. You should see this total on the very first screen along with any stubs won. Unfortunately, if you say for example cross a threshold in the weekly wonders program that gives 5000XP...This XP will be included in your XP Gained total on the post game screen. Same thing happens if you list a card in the market place...and it sells while you're in the middle of a game. You're Stub "Winnings" on the post game screen will reflect the stubs you received from your sold card.
Total PXP for all your players, won't equal the XP Gained. The PXP is actually quantifiable and measurable..."X" number of PXP for an AB, Hit, 2B, HR, K, etc... I don't believe anyones ever been able to figure out exactly how XP is measured. (I could be wrong on this). Only thing I remember when it came to measuring "XP" was on Defense...If you struck out the Side (On Rookie) you got like 450 XP so that was essentially the Most XP you could receive on the defensive side...This was also last year when your XP gains popped up in the corner after each half inning. They either don't do that this year? Or you have to turn it on I think?Apologize if any of this was superfluous and you already knew it...just kind of all ties together so wanted to be sure i was being clear.

Clear as crystal and no apologies necessary EVER (in my book) when you’ve taken the time and thoughtfulness to answer someone’s question lol especially when it’s mine
I didn’t know any of that so I thank you. If you find a way to turn on those mid inning XP gain notifications please let me know that as well (I don’t ask much, do I?) as i greatly covet that information and miss it terribly from last years game.
Very very helpful post my friend

FA? Are you using the NBL players? That shouldn't make a difference anyway. Maybe a S5 specific team is needed for more XP? Still shouldn't matter though. Is your pitcher doing well also? 18-23 strike outs, QS, complete game shut out, etc. All that should get you 5K-8K a game.

I just thought of something. I probably SHOULD be playing my vs cpu games with a season five squad shouldn’t I? Would that get me to the Acuña faster or is it simply any XP earned right now is credited to my Sfive point totals? I’m right at two fifty K right now so I’m going to pay attention and see what I get this game

Ok just did a vs cpu game where I had twenty two strikeouts with three pitchers also had twenty homers with eleven diff players and got zero XP. Check out my player ID it should be the most recent game I played. Someone please look at it and tell me what it is I’m doing wrong. I got tons of PXP but not a single XP. No wonder I feel like this Acuña is taking forever to get to.
Oh and the only other game I played today was a vs cpu game that I quit after a couple innings because my wife came home with Arbys and I wasn’t about to miss that so it’s not a question of exceeding my daily limit. I started today with 245,215 XP and that’s where I still am. Someone please tell me what I’m missing because this is the slowest I’ve progressed through a season so far and I just don’t get it. What’s worse is this has been the only season where there was a reward card that I’ve actually wanted and instead of progress if I’m just marking time
