Full refunds being given (PS4)
-
Attention any owners of MLB 19 The Show - full refunds are being given to PS4 owners of this game upon enquiry (see screenshot below) - even if you're no longer playing MLB 19; go ahead and check your connectivity to the servers as you may still be entitled to money back (load up the game, check the main menu for the following specific error - login failed: a network error has occurred.
Sony are doing this because they are the publisher of this title. The specific network error randomly occurs with selected users and is unfixable. Sony may require you to undertake some troubleshooting tasks and provide some screenshots before offering any compensation. You only have until January 5th 2024 to claim the refund, as this is when the servers officially close so be sure to act quickly.Online service update: https://theshow.com/news/mlb-the-show-19-and-mlb-the-show-20-online-service-update/

Why would I do this for a game I haven’t played since 2020?

Why would anyone want to jump through hoops for refunds on either of those games because they’re shutting servers down that should’ve been long gone? The money spent on those could be used on this game.

Yeah no, I'm lazy

@BJDUBBYAH Perhaps because San Diego Studios are an ignorant and incompetent bunch of bandits that do not address network issues with any of their MLB games... not just 19 either, pretty sure The Show 23 recovered from a serious outage on Switch only a few weeks ago.

That still doesn’t make any of us care to jump through hoops to get a refund on 3 and 4 year old games from Sony for problems you have with SDS. They’re not the same company.

@whittle1
Yeah, I’m good. I don’t need the 60 dollars I spent 5 years ago -
I’m glad they got rid of those servers. I wish they’d dump MLB21 while they’re at it and put the resources towards the current game.

Not everyone just plays the current game, you know? There's a reason why the servers stay up for years after a new version is released.

I get it. MLB22 would be the old game. They don’t need to keep 5 versions alive of a game or in my personal opinion 3 versions.
