You should know by now to NEVER play within 2-3 hours of a new content release. Best bet is to play between 8pm -1/2am your time.

This never happens during new content either but the weather is bad. Not sure if weather would wreak havoc on my fancy Xfinity 5G WiFi. This is my first winter since getting it.

I was having the same problem today and I am on the 2020 game. Kept getting "disconnected from the show online". Went to the home screen and it said "connect to the internet to play". I look over at my computer and see my internet working perfectly fine.
Servers for this game are just trash lately. New content is just another excuse for them.
