What is a sac hit? I know what a sac fly is, and I know what a sac bunt is.
But if it’s a hit, what is the sac? Doesn’t “sac” mean “sacrifice”? As in “sacrificing an out?” If it’s a hit, what was sacrificed?
Sorry. Basketball is my first love. I thought I knew baseball pretty well. But I need a little help here.

Laying down a bunt and moving a runner over will get you that one.

But the bunter has to be thrown out, right? So it’s a sac bunt, not a sac hit…
I tried to do this, but it was with Bobby Witt, and he beat it out. I did not get credit for advancing the runner from first to second.

Yeah, the correct term is sacrifice bunt or sac bunt for short.

That’s because he would’ve gotten a single. It’s exactly what @romeischillin said.

Not sure about the game ,but in real life the batter doesn't need to be out to be credited with a sacrifice, seen the batter get it on errors and with multiple runners and they get an out still gets it for advancing other runner even though safe at first.even seen it a few times when the batter beat it but 99.999999% they rule that a hit.

Right. So your wording wasn’t correct on your first response. You said “Laying down a bunt and moving a runner over will get you that one.” But that isn’t the whole truth. I have to lay down a bunt, move a runner over, AND get thrown out.
But it all goes back to the original people on this post. There is no such thing as a sac “hit.”

Good point. I misspoke and so did the person who said it’s a sac hit. It’s called a sacrifice bunt exactly like @romeischillin described it.
