I think it is really dumb that they made this card. Adam Wainwright's hitting attributes are better than any of the Willie mays or Honus wagner cards in the game. Kind of a joke if you ask me.

Agreed. What's the point of even having real players anymore? Just make up a bunch of stats as well as names, height, weight, etc. Feels like they've just thrown in the towel this year.

It’s like the reliever cards for position players. When they made one for Pujols a couple years ago he was like a 65 not a 95.

And there is another 99 Big Unit in the newest Chase Pack. It's really not much different than the 99 Dbacks version. Why would anyone pay money/stubs for this? The content this year has been extremely bizarre.

While I agree it is a silly card (I kind of want it though) where do we draw the line on silly? Is it any sillier than a high school draft pick getting a 99? A journey man player getting a 97 Topps now card for a walk off single? At least Adam has a Silver Slugger award in his trophy case.
I kind of like it as a career send off. He won't be in the game next year and who knows when or if he will return.
I think SDS sees it as a tribute card. If you use it then you could not use his 99 pitcher Career Card (The only 99 overall Cardinal starter eligible for this season). If you use him on a Cardinal theme team you most likely need to bench either 99 McGwire or 97 Goldy.
My only complaint is that I have not kept up with Sept POTM at all so I would need to do the whole thing from scratch to get him.
