I haven't looked at live series cards in a long time, but if I had to guess, Betts has probably been a high 90+ diamond for a lot longer. That means that many people may have bought Acuna when he was a lower overall, decreasing demand.

Yep. Mookie's been 90+ all season. Acuna was low Diamond for a better part of the year.

Idk makes no sense to me being a trader. Buy low sell high . Seems people would be buying him . But I really don't understand the metrics of this market.

I also believe because he was lower rated he would pop up more often when opening packs so more of his cards are available.

Buy low, sell high still works. Put in a buy order for 12215, sell for 16587, make 2713 stubs after tax. You can do that with pretty much any card on the market. It's called flipping.
If you're confused about why everyone isn't buying him up when he is so cheap compared to other high diamonds...
- It's September.
- Most people who want him already have him locked in.
- While his value may creep up a bit over time, at this point it will NEVER reach Mookies level. There are better investment opportunities.

If Betts has been a high 90 all year long the chance of pulling him as a diamond is much smaller than pulling an 85 diamond. This is why the majority of times you pull a diamond the background screen is purple and not teal. I don't know the odds but lets pretend the odds of pulling a high diamond (teal) is 1 in 10 and pulling a low diamond (purple) is 9 in 10. Stands to reason there would be more low diamonds on the market. If a player is a low diamond for a significant portion of the year and then reaches high diamond status you will still have more out there, and collected (no demand), then the player who was a teal all year long. I am not sure why this is confusing.

People bought a bunch as an investment when he was 87. There are better versions of him to use.

As other has said Acuna did not break 90 until June. He started as an 86 so during the first two months he was pulled with the same regularity as 0ther 86 over cards.
Mookie has never fallen below 90 the whole season.
Bottom line the Betts card is rarer than the Acuna card.

That’s what I was saying up there.
