Do you still have to start fresh each year in Franchise?
-
It used to be you could carry your franchise over to the next year's game, but they stopped it when they began cross-play. Have they returned to doing this, or do you still need to begin fresh each year?
I haven't played Franchise since '19, and I'm thinking about leaving DD for Franchise if I can carry my organization over to next year's game.

I heard the current generation consoles doesn’t allow for this. Seems like an odd statement.

That does seem odd. I've always associated it with cross-play, but, that is the same time the new consoles came out. That is a true bummer if it's true. That was one of the best things about Franchise. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense to build an organization and manage it if it all goes away at the end of the year.

My thought was maybe the MS and Nintendo consoles where the problem since they were the new kids on the block. I think that makes more sense to be honest. I loaded MLB20 onto my PS5 since it still has my franchise into its 22nd season running strong. I haven’t played it since last summer.

If it's a console issue, I suspect the Switch more than the XBox. I don't remember if I brought my '19 team over into '20 or not - I should check that. If not, I can go back to '20 and bring in my organization and play that.
Thanks.

Especially if you add the fact that I can play my franchise on my PS5 in one room, upload it to the cloud and play it in another room on a PS4. And you can do cross-saves with different brands too.

That's a good point. I need to go back and look at '20 to see if my team is there.

You’re welcome. It stopped when they added the new consoles so I just assumed. New generation makes more sense. Cross saves makes sense as well since you can go from old generation to current generation.
