This is an outrage.
There's this guy named Brooks Robinson. And Mike Schmidt.
When Nado wins his 11th GG this year he will pass Schmidt for 2nd on the all time list in position history. No I don’t think GGs are the ultimate barometer, but they still mean something pretty substantial. The fact that he’s won it every year he’s played and is still 32, He very possibly could pass Brooks.

Arenado is the only one without a 99 in this year's game so far
Arenado is also the only one that did not have a 99 in last years game.
Arenado has been trash for most of the season. And he's high on this list because he played in Denver. Arenado definitely had a 99 Finest in last year's game.
Trash? I think we have different definitions of Trash. He's on pace to have his third straight season of 30 or more home runs and 100 RBIs. He has the 18th highest BA in the entire league among qualified hitters. 8th in RBIs

He did have a 99 last season, loved that card.
Not sure how he’s been trash this year with a .846 OPs, .287 BA, 24 HRs and 82 RBIs along with his gold gloves caliber defense. It’s definitely not his best year but I wouldn’t exactly call it trash.
He has gotten in some hot stretches but did you forget how he started the season? Heck there was talk of trading him for next to nothing.
You’re right, the first two months were bad, I’ve tried to block out most of this season hahaha. But you know his season isn’t trash. He’s been good not great overall.

I think the front office expected a LOT more. So maybe trash isn't the right word, but underperformed or underwhelming or disappointing all seems to be fair labels and an answer to OP why he hasn't gotten a 99.

You are right, offensive production overall is down since he left Colorado but he did finish 3rd in MVP voting last year and here’s a Fun Fact-
He and Brooks Robinson are neck and neck for Fielding %.
Arenado .972
Robsinson .971Nado still has a ways to go but he’s trending pretty well.

Or maybe you do, since you thought he didn't get one last year either. But rest assured, he will definitely get one.

I was a HUGE Cincinnati Reds fan early in my childhood and in 1970 when I was 15 the Reds finally made it to the World Series. This team was the precursor to The Big Red Machine. The Orioles won the series and in my opinion Brooks Robinson won that series for the Orioles with his glove. He made plays that I've never seen done. So yeah, to me Arenado has a ways to go to beat Brooks.

My problem is that by the time he and possibly Goldschmidt get 99 cards I will have moved on. As the season winds down so does my enthusiasm for the game. That 's not SDS's fault, just a quirk of mine. But I thought that was one of the reasons they switched to seasons, so you did not have to wait until the end of the year to get your favorite cards.
It is also a quirk of mine that I just really focus on my favorite team in game, knowing that I don't put in the hours to get everything done. I just play too many other games to devote that much time to it (Currently knee deep in Baldur's Gate 3)
It is disappointing though to see, as we get deeper into the seasons that my Cardinal Theme team is getting worse every season they introduce. Not sure where the incentive or carrot on a stick is that is supposed to keep me engaged.

PS I just looked…2022 was number 10…straight. Ten seasons, ten gold gloves…career ops of nearly 900 plus 325 dongs…that’s an average of 33 per season including the 48 game, 8hr (that’s one every six games) COVID year. Wow.
i am 100% with you guys in this thread - i always felt Arenado wasn't given the proper love he deserves - his defensive plays are absolutely unbelievable - his showreel of highlights separates him from everyone

Well, I think we are all disappointed to a certain degree about things and made decisions when it comes to this game. For me it would be the fact that they copy/paste 95% of the game each and every year, the terrible network infrastructure that hasn't been improved in over a decade, the lack of communication, the inability to solve game breaking glitches in a timely manner, the inability to fix freezes after years and years of having the same problems, and don't even get me started about the actual gameplay mechanics. For you, it's the lack of a 99 Arenado and the ability to make a decent theme team.

Good luck dude. It took years of complaining from me just for him to have diamond fielding. SDS hates Arenado for some reason. They’ve shown it year after year.

See, as disappointed as I am sometimes, I have never fallen into the SDS hates this player or SDS hates this team.
Now, the opposite may be true, that there are players and teams they love but I would guess that love boils down to which players and teams generate the most interest in the market. The players whose cards always sell well. Those that get the gamers to invest their stubs.

It was an exaggeration but they haven’t given Arenado respect for years. I actually didn’t even buy MLB 18 because they didn’t give him diamond fielding (turned out to be a good decision since 18 is universally known as the worst year of this game). You can say what you want about Coors Field and his hitting, whatever. But no one can knock his defense and SDS did that for years.

For the record, I don’t think Arenado is as good defensively as Brooks, but he has an outside chance to get there at least for Gold Gloves which, he holds the record most by a position player.

Robinson was the most exciting to watch field his position simply due to the fact that he made so many incredible diving plays and several of which with championship implications at stake. If Brooks would’ve been able to hit like Arenado it simply wouldn’t have been fair haha they’re BOTH so incredible. I wish that Robinson card I bought early on would’ve panned out for me but heck no one ever hits me a grounder to make a play on and his bat is just nonexistent for me personally.
I wonder how that JRam card plays do you have it yet

I'm currently using JRam after P5 Wright and Chipper. No issues at all and quite a clutch hitter.
