What is the point to any of this?
-
I started DD this year and thought challenges were cool and stuff and now 100 hours deep im thinking what is the point? I use cards to build a team to do more challenges etc...I don't play online so I'm building a team for nothing and the challenges come at a pace where the casual gamer like me will never be able to complete them all so why am I doing this?

Good question, it's a huge time sink for a pretty stale gameplay experience.

There isn’t any to any of these tired ultimate team modes rinse repeat year after year
-
I play offline and I do it because I like to complete all the programs, the TA and also collect all the cards in the game.
-
That is the attitude I developed towards the start of the year. The first year I played was ‘21 and everyone says ‘21 had programs that were “too easy”, but they were a lot of fun and everything seemed to make sense. I worked towards things all year long and there were programs to complete all the time, but I was still able to use “my team” most of the time. This year I just feel like a robot playing the exact way I am told with the cards they tell me to use…rinse and repeat. I didn’t really watch the show, but I remember an episode of the TV show Lost where a guy had to put a series of numbers in a machine everyday at certain times. This game reminds me a lot of that. Which is why I play less and less each week.

Maybe try playing online. You may enjoy the competition.

OMG, I never thought of it like the example you provided but you’re 100% right…It’s literally the same thing as in lost!

This is the time of year where everything does get a little pointless unless you plan to play this game deep into winter.
If you don’t have a specific card you need to grind for, play events or RS with the cards you have. That’s the point of this mode.

Or when it works properly, Co-Op, with friends is by far the best mode IMO. And a great use for all of the cards you grind for

mate this is a great question that shows you have awareness outside of gaming
and this applies today to MANY games beyond baseball - the sheer amount of time wasted playing video games is mind boggling - imagine what you can do with all of that time doing other things that matter

It's really gotten stale this year it just feels mindless this year and that's coming from someone that usually plays for 300+ hours annually since 17

More new legends MIGHT help, but we get 3-4 of the same cards over and over and that makes the game stale REAL quick. Where is the extra Microsoft and Nintendo money going if not to get more legends? Far too many great players over the years to not get their rights.
-
Sets/seasons this year has really made the grind feel less worthwhile than in the past. We're often grinding out programs for lesser versions of cards we've had for awhile but can no longer use.
-
Idk , I enjoy the game .

Reminds me of Roland's story in Jurassic Park
