I’d love to know how you bunt like that. Is there a strategy? I’m terrible at it
Be sure to draft the perk bunt cheese and draft guys with high bunt rating. Then go for drag bunts (hit the bunt button at the last moment) and aim your stick towards the gap between the 1B and 2B.

Winning is never boring .
What was your lineup? -

Finished just now. Wanted to share my strategy for anyone who’s struggling…I loaded up with bunters & speed. Then just drag bunt every at bat & steal 2nd & 3rd when they’re open. This works against ALL difficulties. The cpu never adapts. Yes it’s boring & monotonous but it’s effective & you’ll never lose. Hope this helps anyone struggling.
Exactly what i did but i took it one step further, load up on anyone with speed Rickey Henderson, Trea Turner, Corbin Carrol, Mickey Mantle you get the point.
Bunt or hit for a base hit and then steal 2nd and 3rd (this may take some patience because of pitch overs, but they will seldom get you if at all) and then have your next guy in the lineup just either bunt him home or swing for a flyball deep enough to just trot home.
Finished the conquest today and now i get to enjoy Wagner and Marte and complete the rest of the extreme program.

Boring as it sounds, this is a good thing for a custom practice. @raesONE-_PSN is right, use the gap between pitcher 1B and 2B either with a push bunt from a righty or drag bunt from a lefty. If there is a shift and 3B is off the bag, dropping one down the 3B line is a guaranteed hit with a fast runner.
The bunt perk obviously is a must on showdown, for regular games, just select a bunch of guys with high bunt attributes and speed and just practice your timing.
It may seem simple, but remember to pull the bunt away on any pitch you don’t like. I am guilty of pursuing bad pitches and either digging myself in a hole or just popping it up or straight back to the pitcher.

It's funny because I know how to execute that drag/push bunt but I never really play that way, and whenever I would really need a baserunner late in the game and my hitting isn't there, I try it and pop up the bunt either behind the catcher or straight towards the pitcher.

Yeah, I really only do the bunt thing in moments when I need three hits from a noodle bat (looking at you Keith Hernandez).
I agree, whenever I could use one in a game, I get the same result. I definitely don’t do it online because it’s just giving free outs. But if I can fool CPU every now and then…woo hoo.
-
I don't think I'd be able to bunt if I had a 1000 outs to do it in.luckily the lineup I use(posted in one of the other threads, maybe earlier in this one I forget) hit pretty good, even against elite pitchers,if only one key hit,my pitching can win with that, it's how I got through the HoF games, one key hit and pitched through it, a lot less stressful when the hitting catches up too.
-
I’ve just been playing the games normally. It’s been much easier than I thought it would be and a good way to parallel some players.
I played the NL West on HOF and then it’s basically been Veteren/All-Star since. I’m probably going to finish tonight. It’s been the most fun I’ve had offline grinding in a very long time.

I almost never bunt but in a couple of situations in the showdown with guys on 1st/2nd , late in the game I figured I should bunt to move them over and avoid the double play and be in a position to surely win. Both times I mucked it up into double plays and it caused me to lose and pull my hair out. Tonight I vowed no bunting and got it done with an easy fun finally.

you’re a dawg, Sam I am. You’ve got Wagner and I do not. I do not have him with a mouse, I don’t have him in my house. Darn you darn you Sam I am

This is good advice, I just can't bunt to save my life, they always result in popups to the catcher or pitcher. I do have Acuna and Carroll batting 1-2 and have Cameron in the 7 spot I think. So when they get on it is an automatic triple. Usually, I can knock one of them in. So far Awards Alex Gordon and HRD Vladdy have been my co-MVPs. That Gordon is a really good card, has a good swing, and plays to his attributes, really glad I picked him up. Same with Vladdy.
And Skenes is a monster, I'm going to start turn two in a bit, will start out with the Mets on veteran, and as long as I get to the Braves by turn three my understanding is the rest of the games are not turn-based?

You just have to beat the Braves on or before your third turn. And the entire map before your sixth turn.
And yes, bunts sometimes pop up or the pitcher gets the warping animation to get the ball, ect…But I’d say I bunt successfully on 80% of the attempts.
-
Oh, that's right, I forgot about the map being completed by turn 6. Glad you mentioned it! I plan to play every game, but if I go on some losing streak that will be in the back of my mind. I might try bunting against the CPU, I still need PXP to finish the Topps Now program, maybe with a little practice with the right guys I can get the hang of it.
Thanks for the reply!

Don't we get the program points just for beating it, not completing all the turn based missions.

No, you only get the program points for completing all the goals. This is the same for all the TA and any other program maps as well.
