TheShow Adopts 2K Business Model

There has always been two ways to get cards in this game. Time or Money.
But there is little doubt that this year that they have changed their approach and it now takes even more time or even more money.
There have been 27 Duo packs which means that 54 99 overall diamonds have been locked in packs. In that time we have had 15 (?) 99 overalls introduced through the Xp program. The vast majority of the remaining 99's are collection rewards, which I am guessing most players never complete. So this leads people to come to the conclusion, rightfully so, that SDS/Sony is getting greedier.
Then there are the reduced stub payouts across the board. The current weekly wonders has no stub rewards. It is, I believe, made up of no sale equipment, one regular pack and one Duos pack. So stubs are reliant on pack luck. Then at some point this season they decided that the break even point in showdowns needed to be after you defeat six bosses when before that it was after four bosses. Guaranteeing that more people lose stubs playing these.
So, neither side in this debate is wrong. You can still get most of everything for free but that will require a lot of time playing the game, some time flipping or investing in cards is probably needed as well. But on the flip side those who do not have that kind of time or devotion are actually having a harder time earning cards than they have in the past.
It's a matter of which perspective you view this situation from.

Yes for me the lack of stubs earned and the lack of choice packs available in programs prior to all star one is disappointing
No reason the weekly wonder packs can’t have a choice pack at the end

I’ve never quite known how to properly express this anymore. I shall adopt this myself henceforth as “joke rimshot” no longer seems to work these days

2K is pretty shameless.
I still log into MyTeam & MyPlayer every day. As soon as you get to the screen for those, 'Purchase 2K24 now' pops up! Really, mf'ers? I'm still playing '23!! -
I agree with the post, and regarding making stubs what I find that has helped me in previous years games is to complete the entire live series set and that helps me saves stubs in the long run. As for the fact that people complained about the charisma program to be completed in an easier fashion is what should be done for the world classic program as well because the showdown challenges were difficult to defeat last year, and this year are impossible to complete.

Word is if there was wind in the game the walls in that stadium would fall down.

Well it didn’t take long to see this whole “Set Specific Season” GARBAGE was exactly what I feared. Like 2k, TheShow has went the way of the “Money Suck” business model. Drain em’ for every penny you can and give them items that will be essentially USELESS (at least in Ranked Seasons) in a month! [censored] shame! I really appreciated that in years past SD Studio had for the most part kept the option to earn solid players that u could use all year. Never thought they would go this route, it’s a [censored] shame... Each year raising stubs just a bit here and there and then……BOOM! Gotcha Mother!$“?$!s with the release of this game model. Still love playing the game. Just seems as every game developer out there now is fully committed to this style of $$$$$ above all else. lol! Remember when you bought a game in one transaction, with no need to drop another 2 or 300 bucks to access to all it had to offer! And don’t give me that, Git Good or Grind it out Bro BS… ya’ll with your afk scripts and trash. LOL
You know you can succeed and have fun without spending money right?
