If I recall, you have Google Fiber too? Did you upgrade to the 2gb? I'm wondering if the game sees you have such a strong connection they feel like it can connect to farther locations and still be ok.
Its actually a mechanic called lag compensation and it has been around for a while. It's not a great mechanic to begin with, but unfortunately neccesary at times, and SDS' implementation of it is beyond horrendous. This is why in some games a 102mph fastball can be timed up without too much trouble if you're looking for it, and in other games it seems like a 150mph fastball.
This also explains why some people who had cable before and now are on 1GB fiber believe his theories, I don’t remember who they were but two people in one his 100000 posts about this said that now they have better internet and have struggles they didn’t have before, when they were on cable.
One of those people were me. I ran cable for awhile playing COD and did reasonably well but when I made the switch to fiber I started playing worse. It was rage inducing. lol

I have the 1gb.
Yes, I think being in the middle of the country with fiber has me connect to people on the coast way more than it should.

“Married At First Sight” has also gotten really bad at matchmaking. It’s like they stopped trying after season 11.
I would have to ask the wife. She watches that. Not my cup of tea.

Thank you, I was about to explain this. Glad you did tho, so many people think demise is in the wrong here yet they don’t understand what he means by warping pitch speeds because they probably play on WiFi or weaker internet than him and get the benefit of the mechanic.
if I am not mistaken lag compensation works by adding artificial lag to those who have a lower ping or better connection hence why @D_e_m_I_s_E_PSN is still undefeated in his hotspot and why he sees warping pitching speeds and timing windows keep changing from one game to the next.
This also explains why some people who had cable before and now are on 1GB fiber believe his theories, I don’t remember who they were but two people in one his 100000 posts about this said that now they have better internet and have struggles they didn’t have before, when they were on cable.
Demise is not in the wrong at all, has never been the case either. It's just that half the people here have below average intelligence and they find it more amusing to point out the frequency of him bringing up this issue than to look at the actual issue at hand. But people can't debate what they don't understand. So making fun of him is easier for people like that.
Yeah, this is why I tried to explain how it works in simple words, I have the same problem that him and others have like OhChev for example, I noticed that the higher you rank the less you see this happen because competitive players worry about having a good connection. It is worth mentioning that this happens a lot when I get matched up with Puerto Rico, DR and Missouri.
I can tell really fast when DR and PR guys are actually overseas and it’s nothing against them because I grew up in the DR and I know for a fact that top tier internet there is like having 200MBPS cable internet here.
St. Louis has really bad internet. Same as Florida, Boston, Chicago and NY.
My theory is (and I have been researching for almost 6 years) that the game against Missouri that you are getting lag in is probably connecting to the Chicago server.
Think of it like this. Say I in KC match up against someone from Boston (happens a lot). There is more than likely 2 servers this game can connect to being NY and Chicago. Say my ping to Chicago is 30 and 60 to NY. Theirs is 20 to NY but 120 to Chicago. Therefore, the game chooses NY server. Again, just a theory.
I have even matched against Mangoes a few years ago and he is in Australia. I matched against Littleman last year and it was the fastest pitch speeds I have ever seen in the game. I almost quit in the 1st inning because I thought I was going to get no hit and it had zero to do with his skill. I don't mind losses, it just isn't fun which is why I play in the first place.

I have frequently had issues with the DR/PR/South American players too. They have varying levels of lag, to the point where I never try to take more than one base at a time on most hits because I end up getting tossed out despite the animation showing them not even fielding the ball, and like others on this thread pitch speeds I see are drastically different.
I just try to play as long as the connection doesn't become too big of an issue, but I have had to walk several times because it's just not worth the frustration. I get it, their internet isn't the same as mine, but it can feel like a punishment at times.

And yet can’t be that big of an issue if he purchases year after year only to whine about the same thing in every post.
I agree here with you, I don’t know why he keeps feeding money to SDS, the reason he complains is because he wants a better product for everyone. Just the same way you complain about uniforms in online rated. You want to see your game mode improve and the overall experience of your community.
As we all do if it as serious as he constantly complains why bother playing or live in streams. What did it for me was when he attributed some guys only being good simply because they lived near a server
It is a big issue, if he stops playing and feeding money to SDS it will not make it go away.
Just like EA sports abandoning NCAA basketball 2010 was a big issue for me midway and I haven’t purchased an EA sports title since
They didn’t abandon it. They had no choice or they’d be sued out of business. They were illegally using the likenesses of amateur athletes and not paying them.

Prior to that the bs they pulled with NCAA MVP baseball in 2007 simply updated preseason rankings so just swapped players from rankings in 2006. Number 1 team say Florida in 2006 had same players now 2007 number 1 Oklahoma and would have number 5 team rankings roster

When you played against someone in Australia, were you running a VPN?
He seems to avoid that question
What difference would it make if he were or weren't running a VPN? Genuinely curious.
Depending on which one you use, the location of his IP address could be randomized and thus, be creating geographical matchmaking issues.

You asleep or something. EA got forced out of making both basketball and football due to licensing. They eventually got sued and ended up settling for $20 million. You living under a rock?
As for the baseball game. They stopped that because nobody was buying it except you and me.
EDIT: The new games are already facing potential lawsuits. They offered a flat $500 for NIL.
