Wild card don’t work for TA pxp?
-
I just assigned Alek Manoah to get pxp for the Toronto blue jays… he was a set 1 card and was my wild card and didn’t get any pxp for him

His PXP doesn't count because he's a Set 1 card... if you still need PXP for Set 1 (or 2) or you need PXP with Manoah specifically then you should still get that PXP... it just won't count for Season 3.

But he should count if he’s the wild card right?

No, only set 3 cards will earn PXP for TA3 if I am not mistaken.

Here is what their FAQ says
HOW WILL SEASON 3 IMPACT TEAM AFFINITY AND OTHER PROGRAMS
Team Affinity and Other Programs will be affected in much the same way as the rest of the Diamond Dynasty modes when Season 3 goes live. Team Affinity Seasons will only allow Season eligible player items to be utilized towards Team Affinity Program progression. For instance, only Season 3 eligible player items will give progress in TA3 Programs, only Season 2 eligible player items will give progress in TA2 Programs, and only Season 1 eligible player items will give progress in TA1 Programs. So in this case I think it allows you to use the set 1 card but it does flag it as "Season 3 Eligible".

I’m sure you guys are right but to me this negates the Wild Card. What’s the point? Cool, I can use it but it doesn’t gain any progress?

Some people just do really well with specific cards and want to continue using it in Ranked Seasons, hopefully to help them win ranked games.
It's doesn't always have to be about progression.

Set 2 cards will gain you pxp too. I am still using Mauer and getting pxp toward the Twins each time.

It's the same deal as a lot of the WBC cards in Season 1. I bought Roki and never used him once since he was a free agent and didn't count towards team affinity progress.

Disappointing but makes sense

The wild card is more so for competitive play.

Exactly.
Season 1 - Core and Set 1
Season 2 - Core, Set 1 and Set 2
Season 3 - Core, Set 2 and Set 3
Season 4 - Core, Set 3 and Set 4
Season 5 - Core, Set 4 and Set 5
Season 6 - all cards should be eligible as that will be the last season for MLB The Show 23 aka "The Forever Season" (which might be the actual title for the season/program) -

It makes sense, just lame. But I honestly may have never noticed hahahaha.

Argh. This means Rickey isn't getting me points for the A's set 3. Phooey. I may have to use the new Rickey instead even though I P5d the 99 one.
Lame. Not a huge deal. But lame.
I thought the WC still counted.
I don't mind the sets, but it would be nice if the WC acted as a regy card or it isn't really a full fledged "wild card". Just my 2 cents -
