they're not gonna change anything now midway through the season.

This change happened a quarter of the way through the season. So hard to say that. Originally only Mantle, Ortiz, and Johnson showed as nicknames in game.Changed about 2 weeks later to include all cards of the series.

This change was intended though for this specific card series. They arent gonna change the card designs and the literal meaning of the series because some people are blowing this way out of proportion.

I wish SDS would make the Incognito nicknames option, on card is great. I like the concept, but I want to know who I’m facing. I don’t want to see “10 Foot Bird” on the mound, I want to know the name lol.
Just make the name in game optional.
I can’t see it being that difficult. I like the series overall though, which I feel most don’t.
commentary still says the name.

Right? Or just listen to the PA announcer
"Now batting....Trevor Story" is an actual thing. They dont call him "TRUE" in the game.

My issue isn’t the card art or the series itself. As stated in the original post I enjoy it.
Just the name shown under the player during the game. On field, in lineup/bullpen. That’s it. Makes it easier to know who’s who.

And as its been said, listen to commentary, listen to the PA announcer etc. People are making too big a deal about this. Do you really need to know every second of every game who's playing RF for your opponent?
Ive played through 2 mini seasons since TA2 started and if you give me a nickname, i can tell you exactly who it is. Because i pay attention.

IMO - the card design is fine. Keep the nickname and the real name on the front. When it comes to uniforms, the name when flipping the card, and in the database, have it be their real name. If we want to know which nickname belongs to which player, it's easier for us to search by player name and then look at the card, rather than having to remember what the nickname is for a player to do a search. Plus, if we want to see all of Lou Brock's cards, all we have to do is do a search for "Lou Brock" and the Incognito card will be there too.
It makes things too fragmented the way it is now.

The fact that they don't even show up on the scoreboards is a big miss by SDS. I'm not sure how someone didn't notice that in programming
-
The only thing I'll say is maybe make the Incognito names "Last" names instead of "First" names but other than that I like it and really haven't had any issues... but given commentary and the card popping up when the player bats it's not that difficult to identify who a player is.

I also just discovered "Closed Caption" as well when I turned it on for RTTS in hopes of posting those videos to YouTube and decided to leave it on and I love it.

that's because they put them as "First" names instead of "Last" names... I'm thinking if they switch it then that will solve the boxscore and "coming up: , , " issue.

Still waiting to see who gets the nickname 'Snap Throw'
