Sounds like something an SDS dev would say undercover. Long paragraph about how they gift us these programs that take 1.5 hours when all it gives you is useless collection cards and 5 packs that give you commons and silvers with a total of like 2.5k stubs. Same cards too just different colors and names on it

It’s so weird though because when you go on Reddit or Twitter there’s not as nearly as many complaints as it is on this forum
just take a look at the shows subreddit and it’s just a bunch of people actually discussing the game, content being released, etc etc… and most of it is very positive…
Come here and the first page of the DD forum is just a bunch of people complaining about how bored they are or how “horrible” the game is(when the game has obviously improved greatly from last year, gameplay and content wise)
I think I have a theory why it’s like that- let’s just say I feel like majority of users on this forum are just “out the loop”… in so many words

They are basically putting out the same car every year with a tape deck, no electric windows or locks, seat warmers or BT connections, but with a different coat of paint.
That's the problem.
It’s a baseball video game lol
What exactly do you want the game to do differently?
What are you missing?

I’m glad there is a large part of the community who enjoy this game. It is a hard game and often frustrating but I feel for the most part it is a very well made game

Want a list of things different?
- Same cards different colors. Same techniques used in every game sinkers in cutters out. Endless grinding by TA.
- Try adding a co-op ranked seasons matchmaking in that is horrid, constant freeze offs in that as well.
- Dropping 99s? That's good ill give them that but you can get 1 99 out of ranked after playing I don't know maybe 300 innings of the game mode.
- Programs? Wow 10 useless cards and 5 useless packs no stubs nothing 1.5k wow so much
- Hitting engine? Very late outside and you'll pull it fair somehow leave it at that.
- Same audio 99 times in a game, everyones memorized the Lindor and jazz Chizzolm grandma lines they couldn't even take time to make multiple combos or even talk about college or literally anything.
In the end you're grinding for 3-6 hours combined on multiple things and you'll never even use them. It's the same thing every year, they don't care because everyone will still buy it as there is no competition in the MLB video game area. Here's an idea how about implementing a ranked/franchise sort of game mode where its an actual season with your friends/random people?(Not custom leagues either that's a waste with no rewards) Maybe a straight player lock RTTS team up? They don't need to because there's no competition so they can rinse repeat and recycle the same programs and everything with different card art and everything.

It’s 7-10 cards that can be used in the set collections. Everything is optional and you don’t have to do them. But if you do it eventuales turns into the best cards in the game. I don’t know what more you want.

Correct me if Im wrong here but this is set 2 soon to be going on set 3 right so in a month when the boring overwhelming offline grinding comes and you have to do 6 TA's and 4 programs again for the 1,000th time in over 4 years I mean what more do people want right? This game gonna die at set 3 or set 4. Nobody is gonna wanna play it and do the same things over and over and over again up until set 6. Game had potential and that potential once again fell short as they do every year. They can drop 99s but they can't repeat the same cycle for 6 sets in one year its a plan bound to fail.

So you want different baseball players? They added 3 this year. DJ, Sosa, Mark.
You’re tired of grinding might just mean you’re kinda over video games or just want to casually play them
I play mostly co-op ranked and solo ranked- I don’t think I’ve had more than 2 freezes this year in co-op ranked. I also watch a lot of streamers play co-op ranked and they don’t freeze as much as people from this forum claim to do- which could also be an specific internet issues for the user
There was never a ranked program it’s fairly new- if you wanted the reward you either had to buy the card or make WS… so adding a program was there as kinda a gift to the ppl that don’t make WS
Programs are their to help complete big collection that we are now getting every season. They are just there to help you get the chippers, babes, Randy etc etc you don’t have to do them to play the game- there’s so many good cards that they aren’t actually needed but just a plus of you have them
The overall consensus especially compared to last year is that hitting has been the best it’s been in a while with this game- weird things happen when you hit baseballs sometimes. But for the most part when I square a ball up in the game the contact is good
The first thing I do every year is turn off the announcers lol- I don’t get enjoyment from listening to them. I get enjoyment from playing baseball

@Deetch_30_PSN said in No one is ever satisfied by the game…:
Look I get it. At some points this game is boring and frustrating. It’s a HARD game. It seems like everyone likes to complain about every little thing that SDS decides to do. But at the same time I think SDS has created the best Diamond Dynasty/MyTeam mode there is to offer from sports games.
People complain about the same game being released with a different cover athlete year after year. SDS listened and tried a new format which was and IS refreshing. Instead of giving everyone 86 overalls on day one that are obsolete by June. Turned into 95 overalls turned obsolete by June. They just gave us better cards sooner. But people still have to complain.
People complain that the content is flat and not worth grinding. But at the same time SDS doesn’t have to release these programs or cards or conquests. If you don’t play the game three hours a day for the most part there is always something to do. If you don’t want to play online you can play offline through countless of modes added throughout the years to make it better for those who like the offline grind. If you only play online they refresh ranked seasons and BR rewards. They didn’t have to add the incognito or kaiju programs but they did.
The best part about this game is you can play it and have a competitive team without spending a single dime on the game. The offer countless of free packs and rewards just by playing. People complained in previous games finishing the XP path and having nothing to do so they added a reroll. There are free packs through conquest and free cards through programs and TA. I get it that it looks like it is shifting towards Madden making cards no sell and things like that. But at the same time people complained about the BR rewards being yanked in price cause everyone was able to get them.
There is so many things people find to complain about the game. In reality I think SDS has done a really good job listening to the community and they keep pushing out content. Even if the cards aren’t as good as others you can use them in events or try them out in BR.
Anyways that’s my piece of mind.
It makes it even harder when there are numerous gameplay issues and you tend to lose often because they occur pretty often

Even though I know others feel the same since I've seen their posts, I will only speak for myself when saying - Grinding for collection fodder is not fun. At all. When the most common reply to any content release is "well, it's X # of cards for the collection" your content setup sucks.
The sets and seasons setup this year was a bad idea (why would anyone want their cards to expire?), but the real problem was/is high diamonds on day one. It left nowhere to go but sideways with program rewards.
I mean, they could have put in some nice 99s people want, but that doesn't generate enough stub sales like reserving those for expensive packs does.

I do agree with you on most of these, but here's the thing they'll add a 99 mickey mantle card to precisely bring in cash for them knowing big time streamers are gonna buy the amount and all the money they'll get from that and etc. It'd be gross to see how much money they strictly brought in from people dying to get their hands on Jeter. Money hungry company and It works on most
To say freeze offs happen due to internet is nuts, I have my $300 wifi booster right next to my console and ethernet coord connected right there. Same with the co-op friends I play with. As for ranked program last set was beautiful this year you HAVE to grind out minimal 300 innings. Excessive most people barely have time for that.
Maybe your experience with hitting is better just based off luck but I can't count how many times I've hit a ball dead on the button and it was just a lazy flyout or groundball with 125 power stat on the person that hit it.
They don't need to add a new person they could possibly add a higher tier card than a 99? like 2k Galaxy Opal with basically juiced stats, I think that would be a good idea. Like imagine an all maxed out Ronald Acuna MVP or Degrom CY young maxed out card. Wouldn't be fun to face but it would be fun for people to acquire for FREE

99s were a great idea off rip, set 1 was the most fun I've had with this game in ages, 99 Griffey 99 Tatis, but I sold everyone by the end because after that it felt like a repetitive slow grind that didn't reward anything. Im dreading set 3 because why? It will be the same grind over and over again like a robot. They add up IF you do them which I do but some people don't have time and they make every pack expensive but don't even give you a valid reason to pull the pack. Headliners guarantee a silver for 7.5 like what? They need to change the gameplan up fast because this game will die out by set 3 or 4. Only people that will be playing day to day is all the twitch steamers that make money and all of that, most casual people will move on to a new game.

What exactly do you want the game to do differently?
What are you missing?
First of all, you come off as a self-proclaimed authority and gate-keeper of opinions, and condescending to boot.
Second, not everyone is on Reddit, for different reasons (age, format, convenience, etc), and SDS posts on Twitter are rampant with criticism (and uncensored, as opposed to here).
Third, if you enjoy the game, good for you, I'm not dumping on your parade. Also depends on how long you've been playing it (I go back to 989).
As far as content, well I'm sorry, but for the last 3 years (and for some missions, 4+ years) it's always: Program X: Conquest map, Showdown, grind PXP missions, collect cards, grind more PXP from earlier program unlocked cards. And for the last 3 years, if you're late to the party (say a month or 2 after release), some programs have expired, so you can't go back and knock them out.
Now, gameplay: freeze offs have been a thing for years; when they introduced coop, my first thought was "well, that'll be a s*** show". Looks like I was right, and anybody who has been playing online for years saw it coming. MS last year was a mess for about 2-3 months before fixing it, and they brought it back this year with MORE problems.
You have to think not everyone plays the game in one way; so bugs and repetitiveness will affect you differently than others. If you refer to the same jack***es that come here and complain about the same thing every 2 days and keep playing and come back again with even more of the same complaints (like a certain fellow frenchie), then I can agree with you on this.

I don't know about dying, but I expect there's going to be a pretty large dropoff after set 3 starts and all those set 1s are put out to pasture.
As for me I've done the grind twice now and I don't think I have another in me. Not quite ready yet to call it quits (as I really do hope they have something better in store for season 3), but I have been reading up on Diablo 4 a lot the last couple days.

As far as set 3. I love the way this game can be played sometimes but the grind is god awful just no benefit from it. They gotta add an X Factor this next set rather than doing everything on repeat.

this hit the game right on the button. repeat players for 4+ years see the same thing every year with the same issues every year. But they added WBC and said the freeze offs aren’t the issues. they can add different card art and be able to say “We’re good with that” rather than fix issues that should’ve been fixed years ago. They made a separate support thing just for your mini seasons progress being stuck. Rather than fixing it.
