BR program unsellable too. Thanks streamers

I've been a SDS defender in the past, but these no sell packs are complete bogus and killed any desire for me to play online personally

Designing a reward structure that only benefits less than 1% of your customers is a terrible strategy.
But hey, at least they won’t have to hear oh chev cry anymore.

Don’t mention names, SDS will ban you with a quickness

This year is likely going to drive away a lot of long term players of the game in favor of newbies and the hardcore players that dominate the game. It’s sad but true.

I've honestly been wondering what you thought about some of the things with this year's games. I feel like you have always been very level headed on most things.

I don't play BR but the no sell rewards kind of suck this year. That said I would not blame it on "streamers".
It is, at least to me, a ploy to keep players from accumulating too many stubs while, at the same time, they are releasing more expensive packs with rare cards.
I think they want everyone to run to the PS Store and top off their stubs there.
-
Ive learned SDS only bans the people that want to play the game and have fun. They dont ban the cheats and manipulators that hurt their gamers.

It’s entirely the streamers, if it was about stub sales, the no-sells would have been in at launch. The streamers lead a very vocal campaign (including texting the devs directly) to get these packs made no-sell.

I got to my first Incognito pack yesterday and was excited because i took rendon and saw he was going for over 100k but then I remembered that the first 4 packs in the program are non sellable.
I'm all for repeating packs in programs/events/ and BR however I believe that if you put in the time and effort in a program/BR/Event or whatever you should get the choice to either keep or sell, taking that choice away is going to just alienate the fan base.

The first thing that needs to be fixed is Willie Mays clutch, it’s this years version of where is Sergio Romo’s beard.

I think the gameplay is better than its been in a while. I think sets and seasons could have worked if all the good cards weren't in packs. The no sell packs are a fat massive L though. No way around it, no sell packs for online rewards are bad. I was one of the most outspoken against cards with waitlists back in mlb 20, and I would like to think I'm partially responsible for Rewind packs and the Ranked/BR Programs(probably not but a man can dream). It just stinks to see them go down this road. Listening to top players has gone poorly for every video game ever made
-
I don't know. The game throws cards and stubs at you like crazy. Making WS and BR PROGRAM rewards no-sell isn't a huge deal to me. You used to only be able to get them by achieving WS or 12 wins...then you could get one just by working the program...now you can get one but can't sell it. Fine by me. There needs to be a demarcation between those who earn it through skill (I never will) and those who just grind innings/missions. The game monetized DD for sure, but this isn't heavy-handed. C'mon man.

Completely agree on gameplay. I came in for '21, but the rewind packs and the RS/BR programs seemed to really help the issues I heard about from '20. Those programs also motivated me to go online rather than stay strictly offline.

Let’s be very clear, we aren’t talking about a demarcation between say the top 20%, but about less than 1% of the player base. That’s it. Designing content for that small of a group is absurd.

That's a fair point. However, any demarcation is going to be met with outrage similar to this. SDS has opened up the "grind 99" pandora's box, where grinding can get you the same thing as skill, and there's no walking that back.
They need to have really top-tier rewards for elite players, but they also need to revamp RS into something like mini-seasons, with different limitations and different rewards.

But the reward paths were sellable at launch(BR & WS)
Then streamers started to complain about it and now they aren’t sellable

Just because streamers complained doesn't mean that the point isn't valid. Don't kill the messenger (okay, maybe the one with the beard who just shouts all the time...JK!). I haven't done the pros/cons so don't really have an informed take on it. But just because xyz complained doesn't invalidate the complaint.

Also I'll add, I was fine-ish with no sell event rewinds and RS rewards. The majority of players are spending 60k in entry fees to get a reward they can't even sell. I'm not even in the group of players that the streamer's didn't want getting these cards. I just think about players other than myself
-
My issue with BR is it has been fine this way for three years. I do think RS might have been a touch easy for first season, but they made the time requirement significantly higher and made them no sell. I think they could have made either adjustment mid year and it wouldn’t have been too big of a deal. However, getting 100 points in BR has always seem to fit the reward well. Again this is the third year it has been this way and has never been an issue until now.

Wait? The first four reward packs in the Season 2 program aren't sellable?
