What is wrong with this game suddenly!!!!

All of a sudden my players swing at a fastball right down the middle of the plate but do not make contact. Why all of a sudden can I not get a hit in the game, and when I do hit the ball it goes directly to the defensive player they don't even have to move.
It doesn't matter if I'm on rookie, veteran, All Star, etc. This is driving me nuts and I'm about to throw the game out into the street.
The PCI shows the ball at my bat and swing timing good, but there's no contact and I strike out.
Something else that is driving me crazy is I have Bob Gibson throwing strikes perfectly timed and aimed and they go wild and hit the batter sometimes. I hit two batters in one game with fastballs marked in the strike zone. Anyone who knows the game knows that that doesn't happen. I think I've been hacked...... I didn't just forget how to play the game overnight. -
What skill level are you playing on. This is indeed an issue.
I’ve run tests in practice using all-star, hof, and legend. Had the pitcher throw a series of off speed pitches down to the lower middle portion of the strike zone. I used zone, directional, and timing.
The results were as follows……
On hof: 2 of 8 good timed made contact (not hit just made contact)
On legend: same result two of 8
On allstat 7 of 8 at least made contact
This shows something is screwed up with the hitting on higher levels.
Yes it should be more difficult to hit, but it should be more difficult to time the pitch, not make contact when you time it well.
Hopefully ea fixes this cause it makes playing online for people who play hof and legend almost unplayable if you don’t use zone.
The results were better for zone hitting but far from perfect

Interestingly I switched from buttons to analog flick hitting and I’m now back to hitting like I was pre patch.
It might be a case where all normal swing are registering as aggressive swings with buttons. It would explain the swings and misses on good timed swings, it would explain the hr or nothing game this game became, would explain the strange pop outs like every swing is an aggressive swing.
Try using analog flick see if it helps

Guys, it's been said many times before and by much smarter guys than myself. The AI is dictating game outcomes. You hope that it's taking into consideration controller input before it starts painting its awesome graphics. Typically it is, But when the 'ol AI counter says player flounders..it's going to throw some animation out there indicating you swung "early", "late", whatever. The worst, imo, is when it doesn't even show my reticle (plate target) move. I'm pretty confident I'm on just about every pitch with the reticle, but the AI is fully aware it can't show my reticle lining up with a high fast ball and inducing a pop-up..instead my reticle stays center and I fly a can 'o corn to the 2B.
Perhaps it's just lag and network effect, but it's been a mainstay in this game since it went online. Comes and goes. Could also be sliders and AI intentionally (yet pretty obviously) dictating an outcome just because it's sticking with some predetermined script. Dunno, but I give up even trying to figure it out years ago.

This is just dumb . Outcomes are dictated by user input + card algorithm. If you swing up and in at a ball that's low and away , you won't hit it . For example .

I disagree. SDS AI sims the game before hand and if you lost the pre game sim they will do everything in their power to ensure they get the result they want.
Too many times where I have had players that were somehow worse hitters than I am where I throw a ball that they were chasing way out of the zone, but despite the pitch being perfect/good, a ball aimed into the dirt magically ends up in the exact center of the strike zone for a free home run.
Diamond defenders who make multiple errors on routine plays in one game? Try to steal a base, get a great jump, pitcher throws an offspeed pitch, and your 99 speed runner is going in super slow motion while the other team goes at full speed and you are gunned by an insanely unrealistic amount.
Times where I am facing a pitcher I can't touch and I am way late on a fastball and it goes for a no doubt homer?
Player input might matter if you are a top tier player and can overcome it if the other guy is a bottom tier player, or even a bad player if the other guy quits before the AI steps in and is player of the game. I see this both in my favor and not in my favor.

So unless sds has a personal vendetta against you , the algorithm should give you some wins right? So don't swing ar any pitched and see if it ever gives you the win. It won't because you can't win without scoring . Unless your opponent purposely walks you runs . Tell me how the algorithm works here.

I have already stated my case. I don't expect you to agree with me, but it's painfully obvious that when multiple pitches a game that are aimed out of the zone, with PERFECT release point on a pitcher with over 90 control end up going 100% the exact opposite direction of where they are aimed for free home runs/hits, runs that this game is rigged.
I have already stated I have also been given the win from this before too.

I have had an issue hitting since the update. I have been using timing hitting since the game came out many years ago. Even on beginner it is horrible. I am not sure what they did, but they need to fix it.

So they can't program hitting to work properly but thwy can program it to predetermine the outcome before you play and then have the game play that score and ending to work just fine by scripting the game?

Before update I scored up to 31 runs against th CPU on rookie. After update I have to really focus and barely get 10. Using timing hitting.

We get this every year though. A bunch of people playing who don’t understand how the mechanics of hitting work. They can’t jack 5 home runs every game and get all bent out of shape on these forums with conspiracies about how the devs “have it out for them” and are “trying to make me lose on purpose”. It’s tiring. I feel like the hitting works pretty well this year
