Explain seasons please

Im lost on this subject but keep hearing about it and obviously see cards say season 1 on them or whatever.. apparently there’s going to be a drain 2? What’s that mean and what’s the point? Will season one cards not be usable or something? Why am I grinding and locking in cards that I won’t be able to use in a couple weeks? Im confused could somebody please explain this whole concept. Haven’t played the show in a few years so I’m totally lost on this new concept

Check out the feature premieres on Twitch and YouTube. They lay it out pretty succinctly.

They haven’t realeased a ton of information but what we know so far is that for the most part you can use “core” cards and two “sets” during a season. Right now it is…
Season 1=Core + Set 1
Season 2=Core + Set 1 + Set 2
Season 3=Core + Set 2 + Set 3This means that once Season 3 gets here, you can’t use “Set 1” other than one “wildcard” that can be from any season. They talked about the first few seasons, but didn’t really disclose much for future seasons.

So I just collected 99 jazz Chisholm and he’s part of set 1.. so this card will not be allowed by season 3?

The Set 1 cards will be able to be used for most offline content. They will not be able to be used for online H2H games and some Season specific offline content.

As mentioned above, Set 1 should be allowed for some offline content, but not most online modes. But to your question, Jazz is Set 1…so he would be ineligible for a lot of content once Season 3 arrives unless he is your one “wildcard”.

Can you switch your wildcard player at any point.
