I would agree with the set 1 collection guys should be core, other than that I like the content. I’m assuming you guys all sped through the content and now have nothing to do because you don’t want to go into ranked and need more offline stuff to grind.

Does any one else feel like that the content has become burning and stale with these 99 ovr cards. I have no motivation to do collections or get new cards if I am liking the cards I play with. I enjoy playing ranked but when there aren’t any rewards what’s the point. I don’t see a point in live series collection either. Only way to get the collections done is to put money in the game or get extremely lucky with packs.

One of the mistakes they made (IMO) is not making the set 1 collection rewards CORE cards. I feel no motivation to grind for the 2nd pack to get Babe Ruth because I can only have 1 wild card from the pack after July. Otherwise I’d be gridining for stubs, buying set 1 cards to lock in and have more of a long term thing to work towards. We only have short term goals to shoot for.

Agreed. I got Chipper and I think I'm going to hold off on collecting anything else that's sellable so I got more stubbs for later/finish AL collection.

SDS releases high OVR cards slow, building during the year.

Fans: "We want 99 cards earlier!"

SDS floods the zone with 99s Day 1

    Fans: "Everything's stale!"

    I'd upvote this 2x if I could.

I’m actually loving all the 99 cards this early! The only thing I hate is that you can’t use them after June…That was a big mistake. I will genuinely be sad when I can’t use these guys again.

Sets ruined content this year. This is the least motivated I’ve ever been to play DD.

It’s only mid April. By mid May, there’s going to be a heavy drop off with interest. I could see this coming when they announced it.

Only way they save it for me is either scrapping the sets idea altogether or giving at least 3 Wildcards compared to 1.

This is just another example of SDS taking what the community wants out of context and doing it in the most extreme way because I’m sure everyone who has a say in it is extremely casual when it comes to playing DD.

    This is a decent take.

I predict that when set 3 drops SDS will in fact add one or two more WC slots. Or, perhaps more likely, a hitter slot and a pitcher slot, 2 total. I'd vote for that.

I think putting cards from sets out to pasture is a bad idea. Players bond with cards. I do NOT want to not be able to use Murakami once set 3 drops...don't CARE if there are "better" players at his position (there won't be).

I can't see them adding multiple WC slots... at best I could see them having one for a hitter and one for a pitcher if they opt to make any changes to Wild Card (atleast this year).

Personally I miss the old days of getting bronze or silver cards and having to grind stats to improve it. I like showdown, conquest maps and mini seasons but moments might be the worst mode in video game history and this year has way too much of that. I get what they are doing this year but maybe a mix of these higher rated cards just less of them along with going back to stat grinding lower cards instead of moments, would be a perfect combo.

the wild card spot is supposed to be a tough pick, your best card you have or you do well with.

For me it’s my Rockies TT. The last 2 years that’s the only thing I’ve played with in Ranked. I like the challenge using lower rated cards and every content drop that would fit the TT I’d be thrilled for because it finally filled a hole. Plus I could parallel the cards and make them usable to fill holes. Now paralleling isn’t near as fun to do because once you get to P5, the cards going to be unusable anyway.

Now I won’t be able to use a ton of great cards on the TT. (Blackmon, Bard, Arenado, Castilla, Tovar, McMahon to name a few.) Losing cards like that will leave major holes all year.

I feel like they if they really wanted diverse lineups, they should’ve made a Rating Mod cap in Ranked. Not that I even think that’s a good idea, but I would’ve liked it more than making Set 1 cards undesirable to grind for because they’ll be worthless in July.

well there will be plenty of cards for your rockies moving forward with new sets as the year goes on with how good the team affinity is, i'd bet the captains for each team are better for the next ta/ rewards.

you dont think arrenado will get another card, chuck nastys lightnung flashack, CJ cron should get another one, todd helton later on, castilla will get a 99, bryant will get a flashback, rockies will probably get a future stars card in future programs, larry walker should, pitching wise will always be a struggle but you get my point. Many options yet to be released yet for your rockies.

Idk I haven't spent a dime and I'm done with all but 3 NL live teams and haven't had amazing pulls. Just need to finish mets cards dodgers and with some new conquests and new event should make it soon.

Not that I even think that’s a good idea, but I would’ve liked it more than making Set 1 cards undesirable to grind for because they’ll be worthless in July.

lower rated live series cards are all core cards... you can use those cards all year long.

Im not talking about live series.

well there will be plenty of cards for your rockies moving forward with new sets as the year goes on with how good the team affinity is, i'd bet the captains for each team are better for the next ta/ rewards.

It takes an entire year of content for me to fill holes on my team. There’s no way they will release enough players every 2 sets to fill it. 0 chance.

you dont think arrenado will get another card, chuck nastys lightnung flashack, CJ cron should get another one, todd helton later on, castilla will get a 99, bryant will get a flashback, rockies will probably get a future stars card in future programs, larry walker should, pitching wise will always be a struggle but you get my point. Many options yet to be released yet for your rockies.

I understand there’s other options. Doesn’t mean I don’t hate not being able to use the cards I want to use though.

We only have short term goals to shoot for.

the wild card spot is supposed to be a tough pick, your best card you have or you do well with.

I ain't asking for an extra wild card, I'm asking for the set 1 collections to be marked as CORE. If we have to lock in or grind for 140+ cards, they should be CORE, especially since most people will earn the 2nd and 3rd packs right when the cards inside them are close to expiring.

you dont have to grind, you can build a team without them, the point of those three is to make the wild card spot worth choosing and making it a an actual decision, you can still swap them in and out of wild card spots as well also this keeps the live series collection valuable. They wont expire ever, you'll be able to lock them in even after set one is over.
