Hello SDS,
I've been playing the Captain's Edition of The show 23 on PS5 since early access and I couldn't be happier. I love all the new changes that have been made to the game.

The crack of the bat sounds better this year. I really appreciate the seamless flow of the ball leaving the bat to its intended destination. It looks great, just like in real life!

The Stadium exteriors were the main reason I purchased the game this year. I remember seeing them when The Show ported over to PS4. At that time, I was still on the PS3. The next year, I had switched over to the PS4 and they were gone! I've been patiently awaiting their return and the Yankee Stadium exteriors that I've seen - one at sunset and one in the evening are just beautiful! Please LEAVE THEM IN THE GAME!

I've only played one episode of the Negro Leagues at present, but I had a lot of fun playing the Satchel Page episode. I'm a little curious as to where those cards wind up. I could not find my Satchel Page card in the Free Agents. Will they become available when I create my DD team?

The new baserunning is okay, I guess. Glad to have played through Spring Training, because in the beginning - it cost me a lot of runs and caused a lot of outs. However, I'm getting used to it.

The only downside, at least for me is that the commentary seems to be a lot of what we had last year. The same "two suit story" from Chris Singleton. The same Bo Jackson story from John. I'm only 7 games into my 2023 franchise, but ready to turn the commentary off as I'm already burned out from hearing all this stuff from last year.
I don't expect others to agree with this post, but I'm very happy with this year's edition. So, once again, thank you Sony San Diego Studios.

The Crack of the bat is actually horrible this year...sounds like you are hitting with a kendo stick

No wind kind of takes the game back to around 2008 before they implement the effect.

I had heard that complaint a lot. I am not playing this years game, but I saw my first online DD video and it sounds like a wiffle ball bat hitting a ping pong ball on most hits, and not much better on perfect.
It seems they blew their entire budget on the negro leagues and actually downgraded graphics and sounds. I hope the hitting is improved enough for everyone to overcome what I consider to be a downgraded game from what I see so far.

To each their own I guess though. Gameplay seems better. Swing dynamics seems spot on tbh.

Are the stadium exteriors also on ps4?

some of the time I am getting the super awesome crack of the bat, the other it sounds like the bat is made from bamboo.
